SOURCE: How do I work a Salton vacuum bag sealer (Model

This style of vacuum sealer has to use a special bag with a " dimpled " surface to let the air escape through the pinch jaws of the vacuum sealer.

The folowing web site has bags and rolls that can be cut ro make any size of bag you require. You can buy on line direct from the manufacturer as well as purchase more industrial vacuum packers

SOURCE: lumina vacuum food sealer will not seal

Rang the info. number. I did not do this before because it was after hours.
The solution was simple, apply pressure with finger to lid and press start button. Evidently the plastic lid distorts when closed and does not make electrical connection. Works OK now.

I have a Kenmore Upright Model # 11630412001 with a broken power cord

Normally, you would leave the current power connections attached and then line up or label the new cord lines with the old.

There should be a common ground, easy enough to dsitinguish.
A hot, normally black.
A return, normally white.

These may be swapped it the existing wire colors are.

Red = new black
Black = new white
Green or Blue = Green or bare.

I'm a bit surprised t read your post as the cord should have come with connection instructions if the replacement cord is different in color scheme from the old.

ALWAYS TAKE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON HOT LIVE POWER. NEVER MAKE CONNECTION CHANGES WHILE THE VACUUM IS PLUGGED IN.

IF AFTER YOU CONNECT THE NEW LINES, TEST THIS BY TURNING ON THE VACUUM AND TURNING IT OFF RIGHT AWAY. IF YOU HAVE POPPED A BREAKER OR SEEN BURNING, YOU HAVE TO SWITCH THE BLACK AND WHITE WIRES.

The best thing is to always go online and find the wiring layout for you model.

If you have any doubt, pleast post the wire colors you do see now coming to the connection terminal and post the colors coming out of your new power cord.

How do I take about my Dyson DC11 to replace the retractable power cord assembly

While it doesn't require a collection bag, a Dyson-brand vacuum cleaner can still suffer the problems of wear and tear that are prone to any vacuum cleaner--for example, a frayed power cord. If the power cord of your Dyson vacuum cleaner has become frayed, change it immediately to avoid a dangerous electrical mishap. You will need a replacement cord from an electronics service center, along with a few common household tools. You do not need electrical skills to complete the task.
Follow this steps on how to replaced the power cord assembly:

1 Unplug the Dyson vacuum cleaner's power plug from the wall outlet. Press the button on the top front of the plastic collection cover. Lift the cover off the front of the vacuum cleaner and place it aside.

  • 2 Trace the power cord to where it enters the back bottom of the vacuum cleaner. Remove the screws from the panel surrounding the power cord with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the panel. Aim the beam of a flashlight inside the compartment so that you can see where the wires at the end of the power cord wrap around two screws on the motor assembly. Loosen these screws with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

  • 3 Pull the power cord out of the compartment and dispose of it properly. Strip a 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the two wires of the replacement power cord. Run the wires into the compartment along the path of the original power cord--pushing the wires into the grooves inside the compartment.

  • 4 Tie a knot on the cord on the inside of the compartment to prevent the cord from being pulled out.

  • 5 Wrap the exposed end of each wire of the power cord around the loosened screws. Tighten the screws. Replace the panel and reattach the screws. Stand the vacuum cleaner right side up. Place the bottom of the plastic collection cover into the bottom front slot on the vacuum cleaner. Push the cover back on the front of the vacuum cleaner.

    I guess you pressed SEND before you could say what it is, the brand name, and the model.

    Can you give it another try?

    It would be very nice to know if anyone can help.

    How do I replace the electric cord for my Simplicity Shadow Vacuum cleaner model S13L? It's a canister cleaner.

    Since the problem was with the plug on the electric cord, I replaced the plug, I cut the old plug, peel off the plastic cover on the cord, they were two wires, black & white, I purchased a new plug in a Home center, attach the wires to the new plug and it works just beautiful now, it was a two prong plug, which made it easier to fix.

    I purchased a toastess vacuum bag sealer at Canadian Tire two months ago. I only had it about a month when the sealing wire broke. I returned it to the store and they replaced. One month later the same thing happened again, but because it is more than 30 days I can not return it to the store this time. I have misplaced my bill of sales. Where do I go from here.

    Hello,
    I’m sorry that I cannot help you with this, this particular site is for vacuum cleaners only and you may want to check with the manufacturer of the vacuum bag sealer to try to help you on this matter, or check with Canadian Tire to see if they have a phone # to the factory or manufacturer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
