Hotpoint washing machine door is closing but won't start any cycle. Just flashes 'door'

The main control can't sense your door lock assembly and 'thinks' your door is open... Look up the door lock with your model number

Hotpoint WMA50, started on regular wash cycle, emptied water, but instead of spinning, all LED lights begin to cycle. i.e. flash from top to bottom and back again!? Any ideas.

The problem with my Hotpoint first edition WMA13 is will not start the washing cycle every time i close the door the door locked light keeps flashing. I did have this problem before but it always worked...

Flashing pre-wash approx 1 hour into wash cycle instead of moving onto rinse and wash. Whats causing this? This is happening on the WMA50.

The drum wont spin and then the LEDS start flashing

Could be motor brushes....

Door locked light flashing when door is closed

push on the door where the lock is... it may not be fully locked.

Switch off. Try some WD40 on the machine lock (not on door) and open & close door many times, to ease out the lock.

Door locked indicator light flashing

reposition the switch.. in the door

first try holding button at door with finger and press start..if same symptom appears...check tab that depresses that switch and if its good try to reposition or replace switch.

Common problem on these machine's, you need a new door handle which comes as a full assembley with spring and all attached.

open the door, using star screw driver remove top and bottom screws along with two near the catch.

the doo wil split enough to remove old handle and fit new 1.
