How should I connect the wires to the motors? Our Peg Perego John Deere tractor lost its ability to go. I saw voltages on the motor wires when the wires were disconnected from the motors, but no voltage when connected. I replaced one of the motors and it started working. However, I may have mixed some of the motor connections when hooking it back up after replacing the motor. Now, when in 1st gear, the (new motor for the) right wheel spins fast and the left doesn't spin. When in 2nd gear, they both spin, but the right is fast and the left is slow. I may have wired it incorrectly, or I may need to replace the left motor as well. I believe the colors are red, white, black, and blue. How should they be connected to the motors for proper operation? If it's easier to describe without colors, what should the voltages be at the motors when in 1st and 2nd gear for proper operation? Thanks.

White and black on one motor and red and blue on the other motor you can change which way the wheel spins by swapping the two wires around on the motor

SOURCE: do I need to replace all tires on peg perego john deere

Hi!
On these, only the 2 rear wheels are the gear wheels. You will just need to replace the tires on those with the rubber ones if you choose to go that way.  Good luck!

SOURCE: my sons peg perego john deere jeep only sets off

I would get the Peg Perego Gator Shifter Assembly from http://www.shopjandl.com/
Make sure the wires are secure on both motors in the back.
One time I had the same problem and I had loose wires on the motor, but I ended up replacing the switch assembly later because it would only work in 1st gear.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: We just replaced the battery and it worked fine

Use a meter to confirm whether the battery is still working. The meter should read around 12-13 VDC if the battery is good. The 12 Volt Peg Perego battery is made with 2 6 volt batteries connected in series. Maybe the connection broke when the battery fell out. Check the connection and also check with a meter if either battery is pumping out 6 volts.

Peg Perego 12v John Deere tractor not working with LIFEPO4 battery.

They won't work with a Lithium battery. The controller circuitry doesn't understand this weird new battery. They don't work on electric kiddy bikes without changing the controller and then not all work as expected. They also don't work on full size motorcycles as a starting battery.

John deere farm power tractor not moving, battery is fully charged and putting out 12 volts

check the voltage at the foot pedal, if you have 12 volts there, then check at the shifter, if you have 12 volts there then check at the motors, if you have 12 volts there then you have bad motors

Can i put a 12 volt lawn tractor battery in the tractor

Wiring could be an issue when upgrading batteries. Also, if you manage to properly connect a larger voltage battery, you may (probably will) overheat and destroy the motors.

sounds like a bad motor, swap the motors cables from left side to right and see if the problem follows if it doesn't then you need to replace the motor

no don't hook it up to regualr 12 volt battery, first check the voltage of the peg perego battery and make sure that its putting out 12 volts, then you can use jumper wires and connect to the motors with the peg perego battery and verify that they work
