Rca tv powers up has backlight no sound or picture replaced main board and inverter

I would check the input board for correct power supply input
check the blue 15pf 6kv caps near the output from the PSU to the inverter.

My power star w7 inverter charger wont charge off genset

there are things you would need to check
1, Does your inverter charge over any other power source?
if no, your inverter input power source has a problem
if yes , then
a, check the input voltage/frequency rating of your inverter then compare it to the output rating of your gen set
i believe there would be a difference between them
use a multimeter tester{ac}
inverters reject strange voltages or high voltage to protect itself from damage

Hello, I have a 28" BenQ

Good day!
The problem of your TV is in the back light.
Follow this procedure of troubleshooting to your problem.
  1. Open the back cover, remove all screws at the back.
  2. Plug-in the power cord then power it ON.
  3. Check the input supply of the inverter board. It should have 24vdc.
  4. Then if you have input voltage of the inverter board.Check the output of the inverter board it should have 500vdc so be careful its high voltage.
  5. When your inverter had a output of 500vdc.It could be the cold cathode lamp is busted replace it.
  6. If the inverter board have no output of 500vdc but it have a input of 24vdc.Replace the inverter board.

Hi im just wondering which connector to put my power supply to and would a 240v to 12v inverter supply the right amount of power

Check the input voltage number on the power supply. Many cameras take 110 - 240 volts. If that is the case you do not need an inverter ... if the input specifies a voltage such as 110 OR 220 then that is the voltage you must have from your inverter. If you are stepping all the way down to 12 volts then the output voltagefrom the inverter must match the input voltage for the camera. It is best to use a recepticle adapter for your power supply and make sure the power supply input and the external electrical supply match or the external supply is within the range specified on the power supply..

When I switch the power on the inverter, it squeals briefly and then shuts down.

Two possible problems; input voltage too low, or the output load too high. If input remains at 12v or higher and it shuts off with no load, then the inverter is bad.

I attach my inverter with custom battery cables and it powers up. As soon as I plug in an extension cord (any cord)it starts beeping. I don't even have anything plugged into the other end.

please check the voltage of the battery may be the voltage of battery is low or use the multi meter and check DC volts before conneceting the battery and after conneceting once more check the DC volts it could slove the problem
the beeping sound is due to battery low voltage
what is the DC input of the Inverter check the battery hook up if the inverter is of example DC 24 volts please check what is the input

My tram 2512 is stuck in waiting for AC mode, ac is clearly reaching the unit, both by shore power and genset. What could the problem be?

If you are referring to a Trace 2412 inverter, which series is it? An SW or a DR series? In either case, if it won't accept generator power, but the AC input indicator is flashing, the problem is most likely the generator output power is off frequency or voltage. Trace inverters will only connect when the AC input is within certain limits. I'd suggest checking the frequency and voltage output of the generator. If it won't connect to shore power, check the voltage from that source. Make the voltage checks at the inverter input terminals.
