How to rename kingston pendrive 8 gb datatraveler 101

install usb driver for pendrive

1]Go to control pannel
2]Go to System and Security
3]Go to Device Manager
4]Click Universal Serial Bus Controllers
5]Right click the USB
6]Click Uninstall
then Reboot computer while pendrive is inserted in USB
Then connect to the internet.
When you connect to the internet if the said USB is empty
(i.e. no device is inserted in it) they install the device
eventhough the device is not present, causing the said error.

1. Open Notepad and do not write anything in it. Just go to File > Save as (save it with the name: autorun.inf)

2. Copy the autorun.inf file that you have created in the above step and paste in your "Pen Drives"

3. Remove your pen drive.

After removing the pendrive, re-insert in your PC. Now your anti-virus will not detect any virus in your PC. And Your pendrive is 100% safe to use.

I would bet that the pendrive is fried. Pendrives are low-power devices and shouldn't be causing any such symptoms.
If it is not working with some other PC too, it's definitely defective I'm afraid.

Did you select "File System" as FAT32? Or try USB format from HP.

i do have a 2 gb pendrive .  now it is showng a capacity of 17 MB only. what is the problem
/  how to solve it.
