We where watching tv and the dog stepped on the remote activating the sleep mode. My son said he grab the remote and cancelled it. after a while the the tv shut off and know when you turn it on it stays on for approximatley two seconds then shuts back off. could this be in the switch or possible a fuse

it isnt a fuse, if your fuse was blown, it wouldnt even turn on, even for a second, it is your Y-SUS board, you can order one through there website, i think

Did you completly reset the cable box. Similar thing happened to me. When I pushed the TV remote the volume went up and down but no sound. I pulled the power from the cable box, waited 30 seconds and repowered cable box. Sound came back on.
