Try to power it up with the remote control. When you hear the relay's click, see how many times the red light flashes. This will tell us what the fault is.

After the installation of a new A board, unit has the characters "CHK" on screen. The usual reset procedures of [VOL -] and [MENU] or [OK] or [SLEEP] will not get rid of "CHK".
1. Enter the service mode by holding down the [VOL -] button on the TV (main unit) and simultaneously pressing the [INFO] button on the remote control three times. 2. Press the number [2] key on the remote to highlight [SRV-TOOL]. 3. Press the [OK] button on the remote control to select [SRV-TOOL]. 4. Use the [DOWN ARROW] on the remote control to scroll down to [PCTC]. 5. Use the [RIGHT ARROW] button on the remote to open the box to the right, then press and hold down the [MUTE] button on remote to display Time/Count. 6. Press and hold the [RETURN] button on the remote control until the TV turns off. 7. Immediately press and hold down the [VOL -] button on the TV (main unit) and the [MENU] button on the remote. The TV should come up in the Self Check mode. 8. Remove AC power.
I unplugged the tv from the outlet, waited abut 20 seconds and plugged it back in. I was able to turn the tv back on. But, when I turn it off, and try to turn it back on with the remote, it doesn't always work.
black strip down the right side its about 2 inches wide there are also red and green flashing lights that is defective shorted capacitor at power inverter board section that was 300uf 200volts.
it could have over heated you can try to reset it first unplug it for about five minutes and try to turn it on if that dont work the remote might have a set button try holding that down until the red light flashes twice, then turn it on if not then hold the power button down on the set for a good five seconds to see if that resets it. if none of that works you will have to go to panasonic .com for the reset instructions.with the red light blinking the power supply is most likely good you just need to reset i.
