You have a short in your system. It could be as simple as a light staying on somewhere in the car, ceiling, ashtray, rear reading lights, and the all time favorite the trunk light that tends to be the biggest culprit. Check in your cigarette lighter and charging ports, something may be in there causing this problem. When battery is charged and you shut off your car go around and check that all lights are out. When you open your trunk the light always comes on, but if you reach in and it's very hot (BE VERY CAREFUL HOT IF IT'S BEEN ON) . One bulb ON can kill the battery in a few hours. Also I forgot to ask did you have any work done to your car prior to this problem, there may be some pinched wires involved. GOOD LUCK FREIND.
If the light goes out, it is time to replace the bulb AND the bulb starter. They need to be replaced every two years. Beyond that, they are an expensive night light. If you need to order one, call (336) 499-2505. Also ask for supplemental cleaning instructions since the original instructions are incomplete.
Remove the front cover and locate the FILTER RESET button above the dust sensor level indicator lights. Press and hold this button for 3 seconds until the unit emits a beep and the REPLACE FILTER light goes out.
The solution drgoff provided ( the guy that used to work for Sharper Image ) actually did the trick !!!! Super excited to have this unit working again , thanks drgoff
There may be a leak. You might try shutting it down and taking a look inside. On the other end, there may be something wrong with your components inside. The compressor outside is to provide coolant. Inside, the fans actually cool the air. Make sure all doors are on the blower downstairs, and if all else fails, call a technician. Good luck!
If,
when you push the on button it sizzles for a sec and then shuts off (red clean
light goes on), I have the same problem and haven't been able to fix it.However, others have had the same problem and
have posted their solutions.The
sizzling sound is caused by electrical arching between the plates and one or
both of the two tungsten wires that are run parallel to the plates (if you turn
off all the lights and wait for your eyes to adjust to the dark before turning
on the Ionic Breeze, it's a pretty cool light show!)Here are things found by others to cause the
arching and what they did to fix the problem:
--dirt, lint, or tiny hairs
stuck somewhere (usually towards the top or bottom of the plates or wire,
and maybe in the grid contact points).Clean it better.Using
canned air can help blow out the problem.
--water droplets.Make certain there is no moisture
anywhere when you put the grid (plates) back in.Using canned air can help dry hard to
reach areas.
--burn marks or melted
plastic.These indicates a short
circuit.Says dnewcombe1: "There is a
feeler bracket that guides the two rear thin wires while the cartridge is
being inserted. This "feeler" can melt and become disarranged."You can't fix this issue.
--build up on the ionizing
wires.Clean them. It's hard.I took mine apart and used steel wool.
"My sharper image air purifier cleaning light comes... when it is clean" The light that informs you that its in need of clearning comes on even though it is clean? make sure the purifier is completely clean and reset it by unpluging it from the powersource for 30 minutes, the manual may include a reset process which might fix the problem.
Oh there are a lot of known issues! I used to work for sharper image
and I believed in this items very much so until mine broke. However
after a year I figured out how to fix it. Take the big square
collection grid out and the back screen off. Now get you a thick rag
and be very careful because there are several tiny wires going up and
down. Smaller than dental floss, you need to be very careful because
you can either brake them or slice your finger wide open( Under any
circumstances I can not be held liable for the information I am giving
you try this at your own risk). Now with the towel very gently go up
and down each wire like you are polishing a brass pole(once again these
wires are thin and can break or cut you). Do this from the back side of
the unit and from the inside where the collection grid that you took
out sits. Take your time and be thorough, and presto your 400 dollar
air cleaner is working again.
