For no reason I know of, my Marantz SR8001 will not come on and the display will not light up. It will not respond to activation using the power button on the display panel, or the power activator on the remote. All that happens is that the standby light continuously blinks. I goes off for a half second when the remote power on/off button is pushed or the button on the display panel is pushed. I did try resetting the unit by disconnectin the power cord. It did not respond to that either. Is there any thing else I can try before I send it back to Marantz?

Marantz sr3053 stuck in headphone mode

Usually the headphone jack is like a mechanical switch and it's probably just not making a good connection inside. Use the correct size headphone jack and insert it then remove it maybe a couple of times and see if that fixes it.

" display mode OFF"

You can select the display mode for the front display
of the SR7001.To select this mode, press the DISPLAY on the remote control or the front panel. When this button is pressed, the display mode is switched in the following sequence.Input Mode ? Surround Mode ? Auto display OFF ? Display OFF ? Normal Mode ? Input Mode Normal Mode: Displays the selected input function. If the function has been renamed using the Function Rename feature (see page 26), the renamed name appears on the display. Input Mode: Displays the input mode set via the Function Input Setup feature (see page 25). Surround Mode: Displays the status of the selected surround mode. Auto Display Off mode: The display is off. But, if you make a change to the unit such as the input or surround mode, the display will show that change, then go back to off after about 3 seconds. When changing the volume, it is not displayed. Display Off mode: The display is off completely. Note: • Only the DISP indicator will be illuminated on thefront display in display off condition

Plugged marantz sr8100 into 230V outlet without transformer. Did this likely cause irreparable harm to receiver?

Hello
If you have plugged in to 230AC with voltage settings was 110VAC, the transformer has been damaged already [opend winding]. If the voltage settings was 230VAC itself, there will be no harm to its internal transformer. Anyway, open it, anc check the fuses. In some cases, fule only will blow out, preventing from furhter damages. I'm not sure about it, but check it. If the fuse only has blown out, and there has no harm; you are lucky I should say. OK.

Marantz sr8001: standby light blinks rapidly,

Hello there Ed.

For anyone that has ever had such an issue with a MARANTZ SR series (6001. 7001. 7002. 8001...etc...) issue a question and I do HAVE the answer.

I could be just anything, or just the low quality binding posts used by MARANTZ for that.

Please describe to me in details how you've connected your speaker wires at the back, and give me description when and how did this problem came up.

Kind regards

What type of speaker wire terminals does the Marantz sr8001 allow?

Hello there.

These are blind posts (i.e the unscrew back) but will not allow you to unscrew them fully to use spades.
Only bananas (of any type) and bare wire (do not recommend it).

I own the same SR and faced many issues (even going into "protection mode") due to bad quality binding posts used on this machine.

For any clarifications (specific type of terminals) let me know.

Marantz SR8001fail to standby mode, will not reset

Test all your speaker impedances and check for shorts on both wiring and speakers. Use a digital multimeter. If you still have an issue, disconnect all speakers and test receiver. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help some more.
