How to Scan 2D barcode on MC55 (mc5574). How to enable Imager mode to scan 2d , as currently my mobile (mc55) only scans 1d barcodes. Thanks

Hi, i think your smartphone doesn't support 2D scanning, if you want to Scan 2D barcode in this mobile phone you should download an advance barcode scanner on phone. I am also recommend a link of barcode scanner apps.

Hello,

unfortunatley if your device is preconfigured for 1d only you will not beable to scan or decode 2d barcodes. Which configuration of the mc55 do you currently have? if you can provide me with this information i can let you know if it is possible or not.

How do I find out which configuration the device have ?? I know it is windows mobile 6.1 as OS.

Hello, Datamatrix is 2D Symbology. Actually this MC55 is a model with 1D Laser Scan engine. The laser cant scan 2D barcodes, therefore he is not decoding the datamatrix barcode.
You would need an MC55 with an 2D Imager or with Camera to scan 2D Barcodes.

here is the Barcode Scanner Program right now, it seems like being able to scan barcode with Symbol Ls2208 handheld device.

if it is not workiing, go to this barcode website to find more compatible software for Ls2208, i am sure you will find the proper one.

Can the Symbol LS4804-I400A scanner scan a QR code bar code?

No, this is a Laser Scanner. The laser beam can scan the barcode only in 1 direction (1D Barcodes). For QR Barcode (2D) you would need an Imager (Digital Scanner).

Warm boot the MC55 if that doesn't help then cold boot it, if that doesn't help then reload the Operating system, if that doesn't fix it then send it back to Motorola for a warranty repair.
