I assume you mean when you start the phone the Motorola Logo is different each time you turn on the phone. This is normal and has no significance other than we are a diverse company.

HI sprintc534 the motorola rival is a phone know for having issues. My sugguestion is that you take the battery out of the phone. Depending on your warranty you may be able to get the phone replace at the nearest corp verizon store. call the this number 1-866-406-5154 . The rival has issues. hope this helps
sir go to the setting next to the phone setting next the language settings and change the english language.if you cannot understand the chines language.the symbols like settings,phone,are their make sure the symbols to identify and change the language.........
start your phone in flash mode,you do this by holding down the # and the * key while powering up your phone,,you will see a black screen with a bootloader message,,plug the phone into your pc and open motorola phone tools then do the phone updates..that should help...

Now a days every cellphone supports GPRS or Packet Data connection.If your phone packet data connection is checked to always online..phone always shows small E symbol besides the signal strenth indicator.So turn off Packet data connection from your phone settings.
Seems like the phone is unable to turn on fully, this is most likely caused by a hardware issue or a software problem, the software problem is pretty rare, its either a hardware issue or a software problem.
In or out of warranty, contact your dealer / motorola for service. They will either repair, reflash or replace the phone for you.
On the side of the phone there is a switch that locks the keypad. It must be in the down position when your phone is turned on, or it will stay locked. Hope this helps =)
