I recently bought a Panasonic phone KX-TD7896.
I can re4ceive phone calls, but I do not know how to choose a line so I can call out. There are no obvious line buttons. Can you help?

Take one of the existing extensions on the system and listen with a normal telephone if you get Dial tone...Then if you do Plug in your Cordless phone and listen if you do get it then... If not..most probably the cordless is faulty.
Is there an 'M' on the display? If so, that means it is in 'meeting mode.' All you have to do is press and hold the star key (*) and that will take care of it.
