My protron lcd 32 tv has a split screen when I try to watch a dvd. I misplaced the manual. Can you instruct me?

Original remote is hard to come by, try EBAY, without orignal remote you may nat be able to access all the on screen setup functions. Watch out for the power supply module to go out on this TV.

Probably fix it with the remote. Look up progressive scan in your manual, and turn it off.

You should try to use the Component cables. The red/green/blue cables as this will give you a better picture. Make sure your DVD player and TV will support those cable. However, the cable your using now will work. Your TV might be on the wrong input. Look for a button on the TV that says INPUT or SOURCE to change the input. It might be only on the remote control and not on the TV itself.

Give this a try. Using your user's manual, locate the "Configuring your recorder" section. Under this section there will be "System setup - general" subsection. Being that you are unable to see anything on your tv display you will need to use your manual as your display. Press the "SETUP" key on your remote. Once again using your manual as your display, scroll down to "Restore factory settings" and press "ENTER" As long as you are located in North or Central America and using interlaced video outputs you should have your normal display back.
