SOURCE: Nikon Scan doesn't recognize scanner
You need to check that the ASPI drivers are loaded, otherwise it will not work. The LS-2000 works with Adaptec ASPI v4.71. These drivers do not come with the Nikon product.
SOURCE: dell laptop wont recognize ls2000 scanner
The LS-2000 is a "legacy" device to XP and the Nikon software. It needs to be connected to a true SCSI bus adapter, and it's actually pretty finicky about which ones will work in XP. Sorry, you won't be able to use this with your laptop.
SOURCE: nikon scan was unable to find any active devices
The LS2000 is older than XP and has some fairly tight requirements to work. The recommended SCSI adapter is an Adaptec 2906, and you will probably need to backrev the ASPI layer driver files to version 4.7 (available on adaptec.com site). You may need to boot in Safe Mode to remove the later versions of the ASPI files before you can install the 4.7 files. You will also need to update your Nikon Scan software to version 3.1.2, available online by googling "nikon scan 3.1.2".

try to see if the scanner is present in the device manager and if it is ,,to be installed and not in yellow,,
if a driver for windows wasn't provided it means that the driver is included in the software ..so try to update it and be sure that it is the one suitable for the operation system you use..
Here is the support site where you can check and read all trouble shooting issues that may occur ...

cause the error specifies that it is a hardware related error ..I think that it worth to go to bios of the pc...and activate the feature called optimal factory defaults...and after that save all changes by pressing F10
The thing that I try to underline is that may be a problem with a disabled bus...if it uses a firewire..or another like thi s..and the action will enable all buses if they were disabled by default or ..by other causes..
