Hi guys, Ive had this TV for about a year now - all of a sudden thin vertical lines havecovered my screen (show in link below) No matter what ...Missing: 40bx421

I don't understand FUBR.
The problem sounds like the A1 voltage has gone low value giving poor video.
Check the HV controls. BE CAREFUL!!!!!

HAI,1.REPLACE SOME CAPICTORS IN HORIZONTAL SECTION.
       2.ADJUST FOCUS ON LOD(EHT TRANSFORMER).
       3.REPLACE HORIZONTAL OUTPUT TRANSISTOR.

leaky cap(s) in vertical circuit. shouldn't be more than $125 (plus taxes) parts and labour

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.

Are the solid horizontal black lines or colored lines. If colored lines there is a posibility that your Y-main, and upper and lower Y-buffers are bad. If black you have a bad plasma panel.

You have a bad solder connection in the vertical circuit. This will require you to resolder these bad connections before it blows out the vertical output IC or other parts in the circuit. Do this ASAP before you make a small repair into a large one. If you have no solid state printed circuit board experience, please play it safe and take the set into a pro to do this for you. it's called retrace lines ,your screens are set to high or focus block assy which has the screen adjustments on it also is faulty
