Posted by brentvictory on May 25, 2008 Report abuse suddenly, the screen shows double images on letters and numbers plus red/greenish like shadows on characters. Incidently, i feel like i have the same issue. i read about you saying that replacing the IC's would do the trick? My tv model number is AV-48WP30. Please email me at [email protected] to let me know if this is indeed what needs to be done and what model IC Chip is needed. I really apreciate this as i miss my television set! Thanks Again! Sincerely, Ryan Nicholas
I am having a similar problem. The red and green show up as double images. It looks like they are not lining up ,maybe out of focus. There are also streaks of red across the screen. I have taken no steps to resolve the problem.I am having a similar problem. The red and green show up as double images. It looks like they are not lining up ,maybe out of focus. Did you check the two pico fuses on the G board? Usually at least one will blow when the original ICs failed. I am attaching a pic that shows the 2 pico fuses on the G board.
Did you attempt to repair your computer on your own and then started to have this problem or did this just suddenly happen? Also, can you post a picture of what you are seeing?
I would need the model number of your RCA in order to help you, please respond to this post so I can have your symptoms in front of me when you post your model. Also can you adjust it through the convergence menu?
Youre convergence Ics need to be replaced. post the model number of your set and I will post the STK number that you need and a link where you can get new replacement ICs
sounds like youre describing a convergence problem. Do the letters look like theyre 3D? If so you will need to replace both Convergence ICs STK392-120 you can get replacements at the following link and they include installation instructions with pictures plus gree tech support. heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?
You have a problem in the convergence circuit. Most likely the stk392-110 ics need to be replaced (with stk392-150's or better) and you are likely to have some burned resistors in this circuit as well.
This really is not a repair that an amateur should attempt, although it's pretty straight forward for anyone experienced with repairing big screen sets. Our shop charges about $300-350 for this repair in your home.
I am having a similar problem. The red and green show up as double images. It looks like they are not lining up ,maybe out of focus. There are also streaks of red across the screen. I have taken no steps to resolve the problem.
