if you are trying to set up a pop3 account, go to "tools", "options" "email setup" you need to know your sign in name (e.g. your email address), if you use Charter Mail, you pop3 would read pop.charter.net,, and the SMTP would read smtp.charter.net If you don't use charter just substitute your email provider where I have typed "charter". You cannot use "hotmail" for outlook anymore so don't bother trying.
