No dryer function works when the motor cannot run and the common issue is a blown thermal fuse located on the blower housing and wired in series with the motor. There will be no power to the motor when the thermal fuse blows and the motor cannot therefore run. Bypass the thermal fuse and if the motor runs, the thermal use is indeed blown and needs to be replaced. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse blown due to fire hazards.

Disconnect power then open the dryer door and remove the lint filter. Remove the screws from the toe panel and remove the panel. Remove the screws securing the lint duct and remove the duct.

The thermal fuse can now be bypassed or replaced if necessaryduet dryer doesn't run. control panel lights up. - 4cb73c1.jpg src="/uploads/images/4cb73c1.jpg" alt="4cb73c1.jpg" class="h_mi" />

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and taping them together or jumping a wire between them. Once done, plug the dryer in then start it. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced if the dryer runs. The thermal fuse is part number 3390719. Reassemble the dryer in reverse order of the disassembly steps.

    Hi,

Ok, lets first check your thermal fuse.

You would need to take off the lower front access panel under your door, then take off the duct assembly#45, by removing the two #11 screws as shown in your parts diagram here: Bulkhead parts for Whirlpool GEW9250PW1

Unplug or turn the breaker off to your dryer first before opening it up and ohm testing.

Then you will need a multimeter to ohm your thermal fuse. Its #59 in that parts diagram, take both wires off the thermal fuse first.

Here's the thermal fuse for your model you can order here if needed:
    Thermal Fuse WP3392519

This video shows how to test it:

Let us know what you find.

If the thermal fuse tests good, We've had a few members report door switch problems.

You can check it for continuity with a multimeter to make sure.

Here's that door switch you can order:
    Door Switch WP8283288

It shows on Page 4-6 in your repair manual I posted a link to below how to access it to check/change it. Make sure your dryer is unplugged!

Push the button in on the door switch with one meter probe on COM and the other meter probe on NO and see if it reads. Normal ohms is 0-1.

If the thermal fuse and door switch check fine, then its the control board.

Here's the control board for your model you can order here:
    Main Control Board WP8546219

I'm attaching the repair manual pdf for the Whirlpool Duet dryer below.

It shows how to get access to the control board on page 4-2 through 4-4.

Unplug or turn the breaker off to your dryer first.

below is a link to the manual

On my whirlpool duet dryer the power turns on to my dryer but when u pushes the start button u just hear a click and nothing else happens..

the dryer belt may be broken, when you push the button you hear the motor running. you can either try and fix it your self or call a authorized dealer or service center, look in your area using the internet, yelp, call information, yellow pages, white pages, look on the machine for service calls, call sears, home depot, lowels, applicance service center, dial 0 ask for whirlpool costomer service, or service and repair shops.

My Duet Dryer starts runs a minute or two then beeps two or three times and stops. The display lights flash, if I push start it starts again but then stops again after a minute or two. I've gone t

I would first unplug the unit and remove the top cover. There are 3 screws towards the back of it. Push the cover back towards the wall and pull off. To the left you will see a control panel (usually black metal case), remove the 3 screws and flip over so you can see the control. Make sure there are no loose connections. I have ran into quite a few that had relay connection wires loose. If everything is ok. The next thing you would want to do is remove the front lower access panel (kick plat panel) and blower chamber. There is a thermal fuse and a thermistor located behind it. If you have a meter then take the proper continuity tests that are displayed on schematic. Both the thermal fuse and thermistor are fairly cheap. I have a whirlpool duet gas dryer model ggw9200lw1. when i press the start button it clicks once but wont run.

First, check the door switch. Push and release it by hand and you should hear a click. If no sound, replace the door switch with this part.
If the switch is ok, press the cancel button on the machine. Then do this. press and hold the start button for 2 seconds then release wait 2 seconds and press and hold again for 2 seconds continue this pattern until the dryer goes into test mode. You will see all the lights on the control light up. press each button on the control one at a time 3 times each. (Do not press the cancel button) until the dryer begins to run. When the dryer starts to run then press the cancel button. Then your machine should function properly.

Dryer just says beep beep beep everytime I push start

sounds like you may have a bad door switch(mach thinks door is open when it is not).open door and look on front panel that door pushes into.you should find a small button covered in a grey rubber boot.push on it and listen for a click,if u dont hear a click the switch is bad.if u do hear a click it could still be bad or you can have a open thermal fuse
