I have a Porter Cable Quick Sand Model 333 5 Type 4. While using it I heard a noise and thought I saw something fly out the dust container tube. I didn't have the dust container on. Then the sander no longer was a orbiting sander. I just spins in a continual pattern.

I should mention that I took the pad off and there is no belt as shown in the diagram.
I found a short strong thick rubber band to see if this would help, but the sander still rotates with out orbiting.

If it is just a belt needed, how tight should the small pulley be?

    Thanx

SOURCE: Sander does not turn on when power is applied

could be a couple things but I am going to guess the switch is contaminated and keeps tool from running. The switch number is A22667 and lists for 2.81. What you can do to find out possibly is hold tool up and in rapid sequence turn tool on and off and sometimes it will move enough dirt to operate. Let me know if you need any more assistance

SOURCE: Porter Cable Random Orbital Sander rotates but does not "orbit"

Just solved my problem with Porter Cable 333 orbital sander which just groaned. I thought the worst. I carefully took it apart on the garage floor and immediately suspected it needed lubrication as the motor turned hard. I used my flexible long plastic tube lubrication and put some on the bottom bearing shaft the best I could. I worked it around and around. I began to feel it turning easier. I applied more oil and kept moving and it became completely free. I put a drop on the top bearing even though it was loose. I put it all back together and it works like new. Lesson: do not look for the worst when a tool quits. Suspect the culprit to be lack of lubrication!!!

I have the porter cable 10 gallon tool trigger drywall vac why is it that the bags keep braking. Have had it for years and it's only been about the last two years they rip open way before they are half...

Need some more information, are you vacuuming dry wall dust or wet dust or saw dust ? The reason I ask is sometime their are "upgrades" available for the newer models of vacs you may not be aware of, when I worked at the Big Box H D tool rental center the vac we rented out used a water filtration set up instead of bags U might wont to check newer model for any changes, like you ,I had Craftsman for over 15 yrs. and when it died the replacement vac had a new mod for the filter that I always thought was needed. Good luck , Bret

Porter Cable Tiger saw 9735 stopped working

blow it out and spin the motor by hand you may have saw dust blocking the brushes. If that's not it check the brushes to see if they have life left in them. If not that check the cord for an open with a volt ohme meter.
Hope that helps!

Where do I find a parts list or be able to get parts for porter cable 6" boss circular saw

Go to http://servicenet.deltaportercable.com/

On the left hand side, you'll see a search box where you can enter your model number.

On Delta ' Porter-Cable tools, the model number and type number are usually on the warning label or name plate.
  • These labels are typically found on the bottom or side of the tool.
  • For larger equipment, the label can be found on the top of the equipment.
  • Sometimes the type number is reflected at the end of the model number. The type number can be followed by a " - " or a "T" at the end of the model number. For example: "HFAC3030-1", is a Type 1. "36-450 T2", is a Type 2

Porter Cable random Orbital Sander (Quicksand) Model 333, Double insulated When sanding, it stops and starts, it sounds as thogh it is stuck and then gets going for a short while

Hi, Sanders are prone to getting lots and lots of dust inside the unit. The cooling fan makes this problem inevitable. The only way to fix this is to take it apart and and blast it with a pressurized air tool. Hopefully this will bring back some life to your sander. The effectiveness of this procedure is dependent on how well you can remove all of the dust. hope this helps.

Can't take off front off porter cable tiger 747 (rubber boot

Remove 2 screws from under front grip and the swivel foot should slide forward and out (might need a bit of a twist to loosen) plastic grip should now slide forward and off.

Replacing sand paper

Look on the side of the tool between the guide and drive wheels for a lever

Loosening or disengaging this lever will take the tension off of the belt so that it can be removed

If there is no lever, there will be a tension know on the front of the tool that you can loosen to remove the belt
