Its so sinple the scanner is not open.... thire is a black plastic when you open the printer make sure u press it down..... so as to open the scanner...

Hi,

Step One:- Click on the Ok catch on the printer control board.
Step Two:- Press and hold the left bolt key and OK catch.
Step Three:- Release both keys simultaneously.
Step Three:- pick the choice "Sweep top" administration.
Step Five :- Restart the printer.

Hp 1005 Scanner error 20 please suggest the problem
Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the device to initialize.
If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the device directly into the wall socket.
Use thepower switch to turn the device on.
