I have a Jenn Air Electric Double oven Model JJW9830DDP. When baking it takes a long very time to heat up and once it gets up to the temperature setting it sometimes stops heating and does not hold the temperature. Broil seems to work ok. Display works ok. I have tried preheating with the broiler and this works as long as I set the bake temperature above the preheated temperature. If I set the bake temperature below the preheated temperature then the oven stops heating.

This is a control board / unit problem with these models. It is not an easy repair really, but if you are extremely handy it can be done. Let me know if you want to try the repair yourself and I can find the part.

Thanks
Tim

The ovens no longer get up to temperature. And if you do get it to a temperature, it does't stay at that tem. It just continues to get cooler.

I have a double oven. Model WW27430. The top oven will not heat. The bottom is fine. I was told that is was the relay board. which I replaced and I am still having the same problem. Could both...

Looking at the schematic I see 2 possibilities:

1. I think the most likely cause is a failed "limit switch" aka "thermal fuse" aka "temperature cutout". For each oven there is a limit switch that feeds power to both elements. So the upper limit switch is probably tripped which would kill power to the upper bake and broil elements. The limit switch is usually located on the back wall of the oven cavity.

2. There are a relay board for each oven. Be sure you changed the right one.

Bruce

When baking a cake or bars the oven is set to the recommended temperature and baked for the recommended time and the middle doesn't bake all thru.............gooey.

Put a thermomiter in the oven and set oven to 350. Once oven says it has reached temp. Give it about 15 min and check the thermomiter you placed in the oven to see if it maches.

This is where I would start.

Our Jenn-Air double oven is 10 yrs old. Will not

There are 3 things that can cause this:

1. Bake or Broil element faulty. The oven cycles these on and off to reach and maintain the average setpoint temperature. If the elements heat poperly during the time they are ON, then they are OK (may be able to see them glow).

2. The temperature sensor probe is faulty. This can cause the oven to think it's hotter than it actually is.

3. The above two causes can be easily diagnosed by a technician with an ohm-meter. If they are both OK, then the problem is in the controller itself. If this is the case you may want to have us repair the controller. We see this fault quite often.

Hope this helps you out.

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

Jenn Air W131 F1 error code

This means that the Power to element relay energized during time of day display. You have a problem with the wiring harness and it is shorted or you need to change the power relay board (PRB). If it is a double oven, you need to change second oven board.

Using the ovens

It's not dumb, it's the oven. You simply hit bake, temperature and then bake again. Of course you have to choose whether to bake or convection bake and you choose this when you hit the first and last bake command.
