Some Burning software is a bit finnicky.
Other causes might be that you are using a disk that, although it may appear unused, the disk has actually been used unsuccessfully and is now unuseable.
Other reasons might be the DVD drive itself ie age with wear and tear, driver update needed, software corruption, incorrectly added files etc etc etc.
I'll put money on the used disk issue, however miniscule this may have been. That's been my bugbear for a millenium.
