Using to Print Wirelessly

I have a Samsung Color CLP600 attached to my Airport Express. It worked great, then suddenly stopped working. The printer is fine and prints when hardwired but when going through the Airport Express, the print job gets stuck.

Printing using an Apple Airport Wireless network

I am not familiar with apple - However
Apple suggests resetting the printer system in the link below
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203159
Also driver may need updating which can be downloaded from brothers web site.
Other possibility I thought of is the port being used may not match the port that printing uses. port 515 TCP could be being blocked by a firewall of some kind or is not set up correctly.

To print using Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4

  1. Open Printer Setup Utility (located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder).
  2. Select the printer from the list.

To print using Mac OS X v10.5

  1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu and click Print & Fax.
  2. Click Add (+) and select your printer from the list.
  3. Click the Add button.
To print using Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4
  1. Install Bonjour for Windows from the CD included with AirPort Express.
  2. If you do not have the CD, download Bonjour from here
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions for connecting your printer.

For reliable wireless printing I setup an IP address on the printer. Then you can print from any device on that network.

Does HP laserjet 1020 work with Airport Express

I removed any printer configurations for this printer in both my pc and my mac (both usb and wireless). Then I restarted both computers and added the printer via usb again to each. At that point I went back to the extreme configuration and under the printers tab it was finally seeing Hewlett Packard Laserjet 1020. After that, adding via Bonjour went smoothly on both platforms.

Printer says printing but does not print

This post regarding the CLP-300/AirPort problem appeared on the Mac forums in June:

"This is not a known issue. The reason for you to face this particular issue is that these are both 2 GDI printers. Both these printers are designed to be DIRECTLY connected to a PC or MAC. They are not designed to be connected to any type of Printer Server, Airport Extreme Base Station or Powered/Unpowered USB Hub.

If the printers are to be used over a N/W environment then you may need either CLP-300N or any other N/W capable printing device. The other option would have been to use any device that is PCL or Post Script capable. These are not host based would have been better to suited this type of environment. Even though the previously mentioned methods of connections are still not recommended they would have been better suit as they are not host reliant drivers.

As to getting a refund it would highly unlikely as it is not a fault with the printer or drivers only as mentioned they are both designed with the intention of being DIRECTLY connected."

I hope this answers your questions. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Airport Express, Bonjour Printing Does Work With Leopard

In the setup of the Airport network settings, you have to make sure that AppleTalk is actually turned on (or the box is checked). When using Mac's with Leopard and you use both the ethernet port and airport off and on, the OS tends to deactivate AppleTalk. Its not a set thing, just random.

Can't print to mac wirelessly (could do it a few days ago)

I had the same problem until recently. You have to install the drivers FROM THE CD that came with the printer, instead of selecting the drivers from the default list. Then, when selecting which printer driver to use (you'll have two options) choose Canon IJ and NOT Canon MX310 series. This is a problem with their MX310 driver, which is solved using a default/generic Canon InkJet (hence, the IJ) driver. Hope this helps!
P.S. This only works on Mac OS X. I have yet to figure out how to print wirelessly through Vista. Will keep you posted.
