The "no disc" message is a generic one indicating that the disc couldd not be read. This can be caused by a dirty lens (most common) or faulty optics. If you can gain access to the optics, try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to resolve the problem, then the optics probably have failed and need to be replaced.

CD player is stuck

Hello, it is possible that your disc is not recognised. What happens when you try to eject - is there a manual or emergency eject button?

When trying to play a computer generated DVD +R DL, I get a message that says this type of disc cannont be played. please insert a different disc

The disc is probably an incompatible format for this model player. Even if the disc is finalised in your PC, or in a DVD recorder, this player may still be unable to read it. Some DVD recorder/players do not recognise DVD+R (or +R DL) media, while others won't recognise +/-RW discs (except CD-RW); this is a model limitation - not a fault with either your player, the PC burning software or the discs themselves.

Nothing can be done to fix this except purchasing a model which accepts multimedia (+R/DVD-RAM etc). The question is, does your player play ANY normal DVDs? I am guessing your player will accept DVD-R DL discs just fine since this is standard as well as proper shop-bought movies.

The CD player will not recognize the CD as inserted. The CD does not spin freely after snapped into motor spindle

Could be the drive, get some electronic switch cleaner from Maplins spray into drive and run a disk. ensure no major scratches on disc that can stop a disc being recognised.

YOUR DVD PLAYER HAS THE PROBLEM WITH THE LENS INSIDE THE UNIT. THE ONE WHO READ THE CD'S. YOU HAVE TO ADJUST THE TWO SMALL ADJUSTMENT AT THE BACK OF THE LENS OR IN THE SIDE OF IT. AFTER ADJUSTMENT, IF THE PROBLEM STILL THERE, THEN YOU HAVE TO REPLACE A NEW LENS. [email protected]

You can try other brands of audio cdr but it sounds like your laser is on it's way out. Some find cdrw's still work after cdr's have stopped being recognised.

Technics SL-MC7 / Can't play cd's any more!

Friend. Did you try a CD that you purchased from the store? if so and this problem persist, then you need to get you a new player. If the CDs are scratched, some players will not play them, If they are burnt in mp3 format, (or data format) your player may not recognised this also. Please try playig a regular CD that you bought from the store, if this work, then you will need to reburn your music as a regular CD, hoping that the SL-MC700. reads copied. It should. But please checks these steps.

Please let me know what works.

Thank you
