what did you buy in 2008? information you've provided is as ambiguous as asking which clothes do I presently have on; can you tell?
pairing has to do with bluetooth devices, NFC devices, etc.
to pair a bluetooth device simply navigate to connections or applications or tools on your device. locate bluetooth link and select either power this on or locate the make discoverable link and select yes. attempt to pair with other bluetooth devices around.
Another option to try is to select add device. if any passcode or authentication is required accept and/or pair.

Usually the code is something simple like 0000, 5555, or 1234. Another way is to check your phone's manual, or google your phone name + bluetooth code.

Try this: 1. Ensure that your phone is switched on. 2. If the headset has not been previously paired with a device, switch on the headset. The headset enters the pairing mode, and the indicator light starts to flash blue quickly. If the headset has been previously paired with another device, switch off the headset, and press and hold the multifunction key until the indicator light starts to flash blue quickly. 3. Activate the Bluetooth feature on the phone, and set it to search for Bluetooth devices. See the user guide of your phone for instructions. 4. Select the headset from the list of found devices. 5. to pair your bluetooth first, turn the bluetooth feature on your phone to on.
