I use a 1GB Transcend jetflash USB drive. My computer doesn't detect it automatically if plug it in. I cannot open even if I try to open it from My computer

I have a Sandisk JetFlash 128MB and recently I encountered the same problem. It worked fine on my laptop running Windows XP till early August. But now (Sep 2008) it is not detected at all, I only hear a connect/disconnect confirmation sound when I plug/unplug, but no harddrive is assigned. Strange enough this same stick still operates correctly as before on my old Windows 98 machine, so I don't think it's the JetFlash. I am afraid my Windows XP machine or Norton anti-virus software has been upgraded causing the issue.
Anybody having suggestions?

The USB security tool shows an error qhen trying to input the password, it says: The error occurred by renewing the device. cmd.exe is accesing E: drive.
