Voice stopped working

Voice directions were working. Next day, they were not. Checked all audio settings and mute is not on. One day the voice works, the next day it doesnt. go figure

I was having problems with my Garmin c330 so I called Tech Support. Since I was only on software version 5.9, they told me to go to the WebUpdater. So, after doing this, I am now getting on-screen directions correctly, but only when I reach my destination does the voice notify me "Arrival at Destination". Is there an audio fix that I should have run through WebUpdater, as well?

This may be a cold solder connection or mechanicaly defective component on the circuit board. There are many parts in that unit that can cause the described fault.

Lost audio

1. First, make sure that the sound is not checked to be muted.
2. Make sure that you have a text-to-speech (TTS) voice selected in the language menu.
3. When you press a function on the screen, do you hear a beep? If so, this indicates that the sound is not muted and that the audio circuits are working. If you don't hear any beeps when pressing a function on the screen AND there are no voice directions, then I would suspect a defective speaker. More information can be found here:

All of a sudden the sound isn't working and yes I checked the mute button already and it is just a cable connection....sound was working fine one day and the next day it won't work at all.

Tries cables or satalites boxes and tv unplug, replug it back like about an hour later, for the tv to do resetting itself back to the factory setting and those pay boxes to updated it softwares.Go to tv Menu go to Audio Setting go down for a resetting to go back to factory setting.By doing these steps have a great chances getting ur tv audio back.

No audio on garminnuvi 255w

If you are not receiving any sound on your N?vi 2xx thefirst thing to check is that the sound is not muted. To ensure that your unitssound is not muted please perform the following: Turn the device on Press the Volume button on the 'Where To?', 'View Map'screen Ensure the Mute box is not 'checked' If the mute button is not 'ticked', you will need to changethe voice to ensure that the preset voice is not faulty: Turn the device on Touch the Tool icon Touch Settings Touch Language Touch the language voice next to Voice Scroll through and select another appropriate voice
If changing the voice is not helping you will need to ensure that you arerunning the latest software which can be done by installing a program calledWebUpdater. WebUpdater can be installed via the link below:

Once updated please allow the unit to reboot which will ensure the softwaresuccessfully installs.

Voice directions stopped working on my nuvi 350. Mute is not on, everything else works.

Make sure you have a voice selected in the voice set-up menu. Otherwise see this link:

It just stopped talking. No voice directions, on

Hit the menu buttom, go to settings, then go to volume and see if it is muted. Sounds like the mute or volume down button got inadvertantly hit and turned down or muted. If this does not work, turn the unit over and look under the fold up antenna for a reset button. Depress this button until the unit restarts and should reset the unit back to factory default settings and get you on your way. Good luck!!! If these don't help you, call the garmin support number at :1-800-800-1020. Hope this helps!

Audio directions

You must ensure that your volume is not on mute. You need to tap on where the words are, not on the map, until the volume slide bar pops up. You may have to tap in different places until it does. If your volume is set normally, you need to check on which voice you have picked. It's under the options. Pick a different voice and test out the directions.

Do you use the plug in adapter with the speaker in the plug?
Check it, there is a small volume wheel on it, probably sent it to zero whilst unplugging or plugging it....also check if the power plug is fully seated in the GPS

Toshiba Satellite 1905

First, try pluging in an exteral mic to check the mic itself is not broke. Next Go to the device manager to check for driver problems (control panel, system, Hardware look for yellow ?'s) Check control panel, Sounds and Audio, audio, sound recording, volume. There are just too many ways to mess with the sound settings, and they often seem to just mute themselves!
Good luck
