I had this problem took the machine apart and found that the bracket that holds the drum to the tub was broken it is a bad part made from pot metal.time for a new on only 5 years old.
I had a client's machine whose shocks and springs looked OK but it still vibrated badly. (But I didn't unhook the shocks to feel them). I had success in solving this by adjusting the feet. I lowered (retracted) the back feet all the way, and adjusted the front feet so the front of the machine was slightly higher than the back.
Also inspect the feet on the four legs. If the machine had vibrated badly due to a broken shock, spring, or being out of level, it may have damaged the rubber on the feet, especially if it was on a rough cement floor. The feet may be ripped to bare metal, providing no cushion. The machine would still vibrate if the other problems were corrected.
