Firstly, try to reset the overheat Klixon on the side of the steamboiler. Sometimes they can trip out if they overheat. Once you open the lid cover. You will see the round over heat stat with 2 wires going to it and right in the centre there is a little button that will be popped out, this needs to be reset by pressing it in.
If this is not tripped out, then you need to check the boilers element for resistance using a multimeter to make sure it is ok, I think on those boilers it should be about 45ohms but i'm not 100% sure on that figure? The hot water boiler and steam boiler on these machines are the same so you can check the resistance is the same on both.

If this doesnt help, please provide more details of the fault and I can try to further assist you.

My caffitaly S 23 does not dispense hot Millikan after the coffee has dispensed. Just hot steam and a little bubbly hot water. I have cleaned it it and will dispense milk and the next cup doesn't.

First; I am NOT a Caffitaly repairman. Though I have worked on mini espresso machines. Sputtering and/or poor steam is an indication that your brewer is not up to brewing temperature.
** Most of these home machines have a very small boiler or tank. They are designed to produce hot water and sometimes steam to brew a small 'European' espresso. Here in the USA we like our coffee weaker and with lots of 'other' things mixed in. The 'Americano' is the same amount of coffee but with a lot of hot water added. This amount will tax the small boiler to it's limits. Top it off with a grande latte would be probably be beyond it's ability to completely froth/heat this amount of milk. When you order a Latte from a Barista you will note that it takes a while to froth a Pitcher of cold milk. They are using a large espresso machine and probably pulling a double shot of espresso. To make a similar drink with any home machine requires doing everything 'double' or twice brew. (3 times?) You will need to check the 'ready' light to make sure the brewer is up to heat prior to brewing your next cup.
** Suggest brewing a regular size or 1/2 a mug of coffee-latte then come back again later for another fresh hot cup.

Hi all. In desperate need of help. I have a La Cimbali M29 Select. I am unable to get hot water from the hot water tap and when the machine dispenses a shot of coffee, I have to turn the machine of...

From your description it sound that the button strip need to be replaced. All the buttons of the coffees and also for hot water are all set in one unit the button strip. This like a membrane and is located under the buttons. This is frequent problem with m29 select since the connector of the button strip it is exposed under the cup warmer area and is very easy to absorb the humidity from steam escape inside the machine and when one short circuit it happens then since the whole strip is one unit it will mull faction as you described.

Hi Bill
What happens when you do a tea ? (hot water only, NOT the steam button) do you also get little water ?
The fact that you are getting steam is good as there are 2 heating systems in the unit.
Have you ran the descaling recently (if you do not use filter ) ?
If you have or use a filter the problem is likely to be at the rear of the machine, however the back contents all the power and you will need to be happy to do some stripping down of the machine,
In the back you have the pump, valves, heater etc.
I am just about to draw up a flow chart of the water system inside the machine and have it published online (couple of days).
Are you happy to strip machine down ?

FIll the water tank.

Turn the program selector to "ON with light" and place containers below the hot water dispenser and the steam nozzle.

Press the hot water button, turn the steam selector counterclockwise and let water run out until it streams steadily.

Press the hot water button again.
Turn the steam selector to "o" to shut off the water.

The coffee maker doesn't work - all the lights, timer, on/off switch, etc., seem to be working, but the water doesn't pour through the grounds to make the coffee

Does it make steam or can you hear the water boiling? Try and pour 4 cups of vinegar or lime away in it if it is clogged or plugged up from lme or mineral deposits, if it not getting hot( you can tell very easily by seeing if the plate the pot sits on is getting hot) then the thermocouple or heating element is shot.

How do I descale the saeco magic deluxe coffee machine?

Hi,

Try this:

Standard descaling
Switch off the machine.
Pour a descaling product into the water tank.
Switch the machine on to the programming mode(see below). Place a large container under the steam/hot water dispensing tube and open the steam/hot water knob slowly, turning it counterclockwise.
Turn on the machine by pressing the main switch and let the descaling product flow out of the dispensing tube for approx. 1 min.
Close the knob again.
Turn off the machine with the main switch and let the solution take effect for approx. 5 minutes.
Repeat this procedure two or three times, to allow all of the descaling product in the water tank to flow out of the dispensing tube.
As soon as descaling has been carried out, rinse the tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
Switch on the machine and let fresh water (approx. 2 l) flow out of the steam/hot water dispensing tube in order to rinse away residue.
The machine is now ready for operation.

When the machine is on, the warning light switches off automatically, by pressing the steam selection button for at least 5 seconds.

To enter the programming mode, turn the machine
off with the main switch.
Press steam , espresso coffee and the
main switch at the same time.

Release the buttons.

Hope this will help you.

Trying to ventilate and hot water not flushing through on button 26

Before you press water button to vent you need to restore to factory settings.

First press menu (far right button) then toggle to restore factory settings (using far left button), press menu button then far right again until yes comes up, then press menu button. Press esc button (3rd from left), machine should now be back to normal. Then press water button (3rd from right) and turn steam knob to vent until free water is coming through.

This is the only way I could get mine to work!
