I have a Kenmore HE5t/ front loading auto. washer. I keep getting a problem of F21 frequently. Each time proper procedures are taken care of in your problem shooting guide. This doesnt seem to help much. After a couple of loads are completed the F21 appears again. What could be the problem?

You may have to unplug it for about 15 minutes and try again. I had a similar problem and this helped.

F21 means long drain. Yes, there is something be in the hose. You need to open the filter and clean the pump, too.

This is aself test procedure on the door locking mechanism . You will also hear a click, the drum will make a partial turn,and the door will unlock berore locking again. Once the door has locked a second time the washer will begin tumbling and adding water. The sensing process will continue until the correct amount of water is added to the load.

Most likely bad water level switch.

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valves turn off.
NOTES:After 4 minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, then
4 minutes later the "F/21" error code will be displayed. Press
PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display.
Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or
kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure
the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
7. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Replace the pump.

There may be something in the pump itself or the pump needs replacing. Remove it and inspect it, check the rotation of the impeller. Here is a couple links that should help

I've seen this complaint 5-6 times within the last month. Try this. Remove the top panel by removing the three screws along the back and pushing the panel back and then lifting up. Locate the pressure sensor mounted on the right side of the machine. Check the pressure sensor hose very carefully for splits or cracks caused by chafing on the tub. You really need to look closely, it only takes a tiny pin hole. If damaged, replace hose and make sure the new hose is routed properly, not taped to the tub as some of the new ones have been for some reason.

The f21 code means that you need to clean the filter.

remove bottom panel 3 screws 7mm get bucket and alot towels, turn pump filter clockwise and remove all debris from inside pump now close it up nice and tight should solve youre problem
