Time required, between moments I physically switch off and on again my Cisco ASA 5510, so the device starts correctly?

There isn't a set time. It is a good practice to turn it off long enough that the electricity can actually dissipate. It certainly won't hurt anything to leave it off for a minute before turning it back on. Even removing the power cord in between is ok.

Replaced lamp, now no fan & hot plistic smell, (of course)

This model monitors the fans, should one not work the set should not even turn the lamp on, leaving only the timer LED flashing. Recheck your work but you have had other problems to begin with. Be sure the covers are reinstalled properly. Are you getting a Temp LED that is lighting? If so then the Temp sensor needs to be replaced.

CIsco ASA 5510 fire wall problem

Hi Thangaraj_j,

Can you provide the topology of your setup? Can you provide also the following:

- running configuration of the ASA
- ip address of the server (what kind of server is this? what tcp/udp port does it use)
- show xlate
- show con
- show log

Just a quick try, have you tried clearing the translation and the arp table?

commands to do it:

clear xlate
clear arp
clear local

Let me know and if it still doesn't work, try to ping the server from the pc clients and see if ping does work. (you need to allow icmp to pass thru in case you are denying it for testing purposes) Just send me the additional information given above.

Regards,

Alert light in f4 is apearing

I too had this problem. I had owned the F4s from new but only lightly used it. A single shot only then the red light flashing. Nothing I tried corrected this inc changing batteries, resetting DX / ASA setting etc. Even opening the camera back to ensure the film was feeding (one cause) and finally running an old film through on the fastest drive speed. Eventually I had to take the camera to a Nikon repair agent who charged me £230. On the first shot when I got it back the same happened. Naturally it went straight back and they kept it for another 3 weeks. I now have it back and it's OK (so far). I still did not get a satisfactory answer to what was wrong but I was told the top and bottom drives had been rebuilt. Sorry this is not a quick fix but I don't think there is one. to hThere is nothing in any of the books or manuals to help or even mention it. best wishes Brian

I had this same issue on my ASA 5520.

1. Copy the config and IOS image to a tftp server.
2. Format flash (disk0)
3. set rommon server, ip addy, and file settings.
4. tftpdnld
5. Once the system has booted to the image copy the asa image file, asdm image file, and config to flash
6. configure asdm image default location and reload
