Try United Radio (www.unitedradio.com). I used to work at a car stereo shop and that's where we sent all our repairs. Can't remember if they do Blaupunkt. It's a little pricey but they were very professional.
That wire makes it so the unit can only be used while the Parking Brake is activated, so you cannot use it whilst mobile. Some people bypass this, depending on how it works, by Earthing it out, or taking to + 12V.
