This has been happening since the first cord was attached to the first electric iron. The cord takes a beating. You will have to disassemble the handle and fix it ... or get a replacement.

My tefal iron works for about 10 minutes them cuts out . Why ?

There are a few possible causes for your Tefal iron cutting out after about 10 minutes of use:
  1. Overheating: The iron may be overheating and shutting off as a safety measure. This could be caused by a clogged steam vent or a malfunctioning heating element.
  2. Electrical issues: The iron may be experiencing electrical issues, such as a faulty power cord or a problem with the outlet.
  3. Water leaks: If the iron is leaking water, it could be causing the iron to shut off. Check for any visible leaks and make sure the water tank is properly sealed.
  4. Malfunctioning thermostat: The iron's thermostat may be malfunctioning, causing it to shut off unexpectedly.

Iron heating sporadically and sensor lights working sporadically

sounds like a loose connection in the power transfer, some piece of metal may be broken or the cord itself may be damaged in some place, you could try replacing the cord. I would just go and buy a new iron. They aren't all that expensive anymore. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I hope you solve your problem. If you want any further help or have any other questions, please let me know, otherwise have a Good Day.

Iron will not heat

see the causes and proceed according, fix it. God bless you
If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet, check the electrical cord, and check the thermostat (see the Appliance Controls Fix-It Guide) and replace if necessary.
If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber (see below).
If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat (see the Appliance Controls Fix-It Guide).

The power cord on my Shark model #G146810 is loose and doesnt heat, can this problem be fixed?

Hi!!
It should be an access plate fasten by a couple of screws right below the power cord, remove them and fix the cord's terminals/contacts or the cord itself.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Cord

If the iron is still in warranty send it back via the shop where you bought it, the inner wire is frayed and needs replacement, if you know an electrician its as simple as shortening the flex by a few inches and reattaching it again. the inner wires twist with time and become frayed or come loose from connection

Cord seem loose - iron keeps shutting off - jiggling cord gets it started again - need to do this to get iron going.

Try re-tightening the wires at the plug and on the iron, but if this does not solve the problem ,replace the cable. You should be able to get it from your local hardware.

Hope this has helped you

Please come back to me if you have any further issues

Sunbeam 4267-000 not turning on just blinking red

"FF" or a blinking light will display meaning “Fault Found”. The “fault” is in the amount of power available to the blanket, mattress pad or throw.
There are several causes to this problem:
1. Bedding product is plugged into an extension cord, surge protector, power strip, or not plugged into a direct wall outlet.
2. Bedding product wasn't plugged in properly.

To FIX this problem, do the following to reset your bedding product:
1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical connection.
2. Unplug the cord from the actual bedding product itself.
3. Re-plug the cord into the bedding product. Make sure the connection is secure and complete.
4. Re-insert power cord back into a wall outlet.

If the 4 steps above are not followed in order, the bedding product will not properly reset.
