Vintage phones cannot dial out

I’ve decided to stop using cordless phones (don't ask why) and have plugged in a variety of vintage (meaning 80’s) push button telephones.  I get a dial tone and answering/talking works fine.  The problem is that I hear no tone when I push the buttons: hence I cannot dial out.  (Cordless phones work fine.)

Is this a problem on my end?  or one with my provider (AT&T)?
After making a call, before the call ended, all of the buttons on the phone quit working - the phone still rings, and can be answered, but hold, release, etc. are unresponsive.

Any standard phone should work, even phones made in 1800's should still work on a standard phone line.

I'm not sure what phone you have. The one listed in the question "M7310" is a business system phone and will ONLY work on the Nortel business phone system.

If you have standard home phones, my only suggestion (using the information supplied) is to check if the Tone/Pulse switch is set to tone... even though both should work.

Do you have phone service through a cable line?

Orange crush bottles vintage

Orange Crush bottles from the vintage era can be quite collectible and may be of interest to collectors of vintage advertising and soda memorabilia. Orange Crush was first created in 1906 and the company has used a variety of bottle designs over the years. Some of the more collectible Orange Crush bottles from the vintage era include the "hobble skirt" bottle, which was used in the 1920s and 1930s, and the "contour" bottle, which was used in the 1950s and 1960s. These bottles can be identified by their distinctive shapes and the Orange Crush logo embossed on the glass. If you are interested in collecting vintage Orange Crush bottles, you may be able to find them at antique stores, flea markets, online auction sites, or through collectors. The value of a vintage Orange Crush bottle will depend on its age, rarity, condition, and demand.

How do I turn the selection dial to zigzag on my Elna Super

I've got a Supermatic manual but I think maybe you mean the earlier model perhaps. On the supermatic you set the stitch width to 2 and stitch lenth to 2+ for a zig zag. In this image, the stitch width selector is marked "3" and the stitch length selector is marked "4".

I've got a feeling that on the earlier model you may need to use a zig zag (single) disc in the Elnagraph to get the needle swing function.

As you probably don't have a manual, you may want to join the Yahoo group called Elna Heirlooms as the members there share info on these vintage machines, and some manuals are there.

Go to www.yahoo.com, sign up, then go to "Groups" and search for "elna Heirlooms". You will need to ask the moderator to join the group but once accepted, you'll find lots of helpful information, check out "Files" for shared documents.

Hope this is of help to you.

I am trying to use a singer featherweight II but I can't figure out how to thread the machine no manual

Is this a very old machine because the manual I"ve located doesn' look like the image on Fixya.

    Try this link http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/997_white-117.-kenmore-x.pdf

Singer have various model manuals downloadable, you just need to search them at their website page http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals/search

    Trust this helps you out.

If you don't resolve the issue and this is a vintage machine, then there is some good user groups such as Vintage Singers under Yahoo where enthusiasts share info on their old machines. Good to lurk though or go through old threads first as there is often someone else who has asked similar question in the past. There may also be manuals in their files so have a dig around.

I have a Darth Vador 1983 speakerphone but it needs an adapter and the phone does not specify what kind. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same 1983 Darth Vader phone but mine does not require a power adapter. If you plug in the phone line and push the on/off button you should hear a dial-tone. Mine does have a spot on the back of base to plug in headphones or a microphone, I'm not sure which.
