Firs thing you need to do is to find our why they are running full speed. My guess is that your computer is dirty inside and it is overheating, thus causing the fans to run full speed trying to cool it off. Disconnect everything from the pc and take it somewhere to clean it out. Remove the side panel an use a can of compressed air or an air compressor to blow all dust out the interior of the pc. Pay close attention to the heat sink on the processor and the cooling fans. When blowing around the fans hold the fan in place with a pencil to prevent it from spinning as this might damage the fan. You need to clean out the inside of a pc sitting on the floor every 6 months. If you have cats or dogs that shed living inside then every 4 months. If it is sitting up high and you have no animals then every year may be good enough.

Why does my fan on my Gateway ZX4931 always run loud?

does it has variable speed feature?, clean the heat dissipator, is clogged with lint and hairs! and always runs @ full speed, also if you're already there, might as well reapply thermal grease to the thermal dissipator.
ALSO, because you will have the fan dismounted, is so cheap you can put a NEW QUALITY fan (or fan dissipator combo) sometimes bearings gets loose and the axle wobbles (because of costs all OEM fans runs on cheap bushings) new aftermarket PRO-fans runs on ball bearings.
did you checked if a loose wire is not touching the fan blades?

Laptop fan runs loud

Hello!

Well, verify these things first!
1) Dust in the fan, and cleaning.
2) somethings is blocking the ventilation

never put a laptop over a pillow, bed, or carpets.
just use a flat place!***

There's a rattling sound coming from the belt/fan area. I know it's not the engine, it's just loud and annoying.. What could it be?.. it rattles and at times stops briefly and starts again......

It is definitely one of your idler pulleys is bad or the water pump bearing is shot. They will all make a rattling sound when worn. Either one of those goes and you're stranded. Have it looked at asap.

I have a continental elec port. air. Not sure of model. Cools great but when compressor kicks on unit make a loud whistling noise. Cleaned filter no help.

although annoying, at this time i would not mess with it, the fan motor needs oiling (zoom spout oiler ) works the best .. you can find how in my other postings.. try running the unit on a lower fan speed... some cool is better than NONE

Whats with the front fan noise? I purchased a refurbished machine that is really loud! Sent it back for replacement of the unit; instead the fan was replaced(I GUESS) and when returned, its still very...

I have one of these and must say the fan noise is barely noticable, are they using a genuine fan? the original is speed controlled whereas a universal replacement would just run at full speed all the time.

Hope this helps

Need a fix for a loud processor fan!

Take a can of compressed-air, and give a "blow-job" to the cooling-fan, to remove all the dust, which is acting as "insulation", causing the computer to run "hotter", and causing the motherboard to spin the fan faster, to try to make the computer run "cooler".

Or, enter BIOS SETUP, and check the fan-speed settings.
If the fan-speed is set to "100% for 100% of the time",
try a lower setting (which will be quieter).

I have w3115 desktop computer. The cooloing fan is loud. How can i quiten it down?

if it has always been this loud then your computer is just hot and you should replace it with a fan that moves more air yet is quiter.

if it just started getting louder then your computer needs to be cleaned as there is dust that is clogging fans heatsinks etc and is causing them to run hotter, with the computer off take some compressed air and and blow out the case, make sure the air can is upright at all times otherwise you could get moisture on components and ruin them.

Sony Vaio fan making noise

Hi:
Not sure of a user cause for the fan to run full speed, unless you are using the laptop in a high heat environment, or setting it on a bed or other area where it is not getting adequet cooling air. If it does it right away, when you turn it on , cold, then there might be a laptop hardware problem. If you leave your laptop on all the time, then you might be inducing the problem. I had a HP high performance laptop, that the fans would not turn on at all till it ran an hour or so, then they would stay on loud for 10 or 15 minutes, then shut off, then cycle.

Speedometer doesn't work and car occasionally overheats

u need a vehicle speed sensor(vss) it is located on top of the trans about 60-70 dollars for the part and 10 minutes to install go online and find the vehicle speed sensor location for ur car there is only 1 bolt to remove it u will need a 10 mm wrench and there is one connector but always check the basics first check all of ur fuses with test light or with car off pull each fuse and check to see if there blown if u see a burn or break inside the fuse it is bad replace it. but i'm sure it's the vss. as for overheating check coolant level start car let it get warm/operating temp with the hood up watch to see if the cooloing fan comes on (make sure ac is off because when the ac is turned on there is a seperate fan that will run constently untill ac is turned off.) the cooling fan will come on for 15-30 secs and go off if operating normally if the fan does not come on which happens to all cars like i said check fuses and switch cooloing fan relays to see if it comes on try spining the fan by hand with car off and no key in the ignition u may feel the fan is locked up or damaged
