Sounds like you will have to pull the cover part of pull cord there is a spring under cover it could be broken or needs cleaning and lube also spring tension could be slack and not returning cord properly or very dirty under there be careful as spring could also be broken
ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT A STUD OR A BOLT? THESE MOTORS HAS 4 LONG BOLTS THAT GO THRU THE TIMING COVER , IF THIS IS WHAT IS BROKEN THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE COVER, THE BOLTS GET CORRODED IN THE COVER AND OFTEN BREAK. IF THIS IS THE CASE THE COVER WILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE AND WILL MOST LIKELY BE DESTROYED IN THE PROCESS. GOOD NEWS IS THE BOLT COMES OUT EASY ONCE YOU GET THE COVER OFF. GOOD LUCK, YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT!!
At the motor? That is odd. Is the part plastic? BMW currently sells a metal thermostat cover for this car. The 6-cyl BMWs used a plastic thermostat cover which failed routinely.
The BMW thermostat cover should cost you about $50 at the dealer or $40 on line. Gasket is sold separately. You will want to replace the thermostat while you have the thermostat cover off.
The best condition for you would be a broken belt. That can be seen by first removing power to the product. Remove two srews from the rear of the top cover. Slide the cover back slightly while lifting up on the rear. A large pulley will be visible on the rear of the tub, and this pulley should have a flat belt on it. If you see the belt, and are unable to lift it up, then it's not broken. At that point you should consider calling a qualified service technician to diagnose your problem. It can be a failed motor (your unit has two motors.....one is the drive motor, the second is the pump motor), a failed motor speed control board, or a bad electrical connection.
I am not familiar with Alero's, but my guess would be the window regulator is broken. The motor pulls a cable which is attached to frame that bolts to the bottom of the window. The cable connecting to the frame (or motor) is probably broken.
You will have to remove the door cover. This involves finding a few screws and removing them, then gently prying off the cover. Search the net for details.
Hi the shaft should just pull up, to remove the motor you will need to turn the oven onto it side, you will see a cover at the bottom of the machine to remove this you will probably need to cut through three of the tabs, you can then gain access to the two screws securing the motor.
When replacing the cover turn it over and fix using the spare self tapping screw to be found in the base near to the cover you just removed.
Has the motor jumped track or a belt broken, or a spiral gear broken, take the cover off where you hear the motor and see if you can in there with a light.
It sounds like you have a broken belt. The belt connects the motor to the large handwheel on the right side of the machine. Usually the side cover comes off with just a couple screws and exposes the motor belt, however some require removing the back cover also. You should be able to get a belt at your nearest sewing machine repair shop. Take your old one with you so you get the correct size.
If you open the side of the machine and the belt is not broken. The pulley on the motor may be damaged.
Is the cover assembly engaged and locked into place? If you can't lock the cover into place, it's possible that part of the plastic on the cover assembly is broken and not engaging the white rod inside the bowl. Determine which part is at fault (either the bowl or the cover assembly) and replace it.
