Jason478. I would be surprised you are picking up the signal from the Spot beam which Sky Pacific uses. I do not believe even the spill is reaching Hawaii. Best to get a refund of your money as you will definitely loose the signal when the replacement satellite kicks in on Dec 2011. Be careful of the Sales people in Sky Pacific.

The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is the same year as decoded from the frame number. If it is not the original engine, you are hosed as to determining the year of the engine. The engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless since they only denote the engine size, assembly plant, and sequence of that engine in a production run. You can go to the site below and enter the frame number into the VIN decoder to get the year and other information. Note; back in 1985 the manufacturers adopted 17 digit VIN. If you have less than 17 digits you are out of luck. Please rate my answer. Thanks. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/kawasaki.asp
I have just had same problem with my 2001 GTV. Main agent useless as usual. Turned out to be a coding problem with the immobiliser and the fitting of a new immobiliser "panel" solved the problem.
