iOS: An app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won't open
Learn what to do if an app you downloaded from the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won't open.
Follow the steps below and test the app after each step.
Restart the app
Close the app and open it again.
Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
Update your device software and your apps
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
Update your apps:
Open the App Store and tap Updates.
If updates are available, tap Update All.
If asked, enter your Apple ID password. The updates will download and install.
You might need a Wi-Fi connection to update some apps.
Install another app from the App Store
If your installed app won't open, download and install a free app that isn't on your iOS device. This should reset your Apple ID authorization.
Remember to use the same Apple ID that you used to download the app that you're having issues with.
Reinstall the app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it. Remember that deleting an app also deletes its data.
Wait for the app to download, then open it from the Home screen.
If the download stops, you can resume it.
Contact the developer
If you see the issue again, contact the developer of the app for help:
Find the app in the App Store.
Tap the app and tap Reviews.
Tap App Support.

got to apps on the phone click on the google app, in menu clear catch. then go out of the settings and try again. also on the devices next to the home House button there is 2 squares open this and swipe all of them up. this closes them down.. should work then. remember to close apps down every now ant then.
Depends what type of phone you have. You can try deleting the fb app and reinstalling it. If you are using a lumia phone you need to download the Lumia system updater app and download the fb app from there
Even still to this day, it happens. I've figured a temporary solution to fix this issue.
1. Go to settings > apps > manage apps and make sure you are under all apps tab. 2. Find Google play store and force close it. Then select uninstall updates. 3. Go back and scroll down to find Market Updater?... I think is what it is called and select force close.
From now on, only use the Market. The Google Play Store icon may disappear from the apps/app drawer... which is exactly what you want.
If it ever happens again and Play Store comes up again, just repeat the process. As I said, I believe this fix is only TEMPORARY.
Try forcing the app to close. When it is open, hold down the power button until the "slide to turn off" appears. Then hold the home button until the app exists. Then try starting the app again. Secondly, try restarting your phone completely. If these do not work it is a problem with the app that you can't fix, you should contact the developer and perhaps they will address it in the future with an update.
make sure you got enough memory available on both phones internal and micro sd card. also try to delete suff from internal memory
move the sms contacts to memory card... along with apps..
Close any active app (Press and hold menu key to see open apps)
if any of the above doesnt fix, then you need to format your phone..
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer button, * button, and '3? button.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
