Riccar 9900 model fix. The reverse feed button (which makes reverse stitching) inside of the stitch length dial is continually getting stuck. My grandma and I have found that it can be popped out with a properly placed pin or the perfect touch. Why is it getting stuck?

My Elna Stitch Craft 4000 sews very small stitches even after I adjust the length?

It sounds like there might be an issue with the settings or mechanism of your Elna Stitch Craft 4000 sewing machine. Even after adjusting the stitch length, if it continues to sew very small stitches, there are a few things you can try:
1. **Check the Stitch Length Dial**: Ensure that you are adjusting the stitch length dial correctly. Sometimes, the dial may not be turning properly or may be stuck, leading to the machine sewing at the same small stitch length regardless of your adjustments.
2. **Clean and Oil the Machine**: A sewing machine that hasn't been cleaned or oiled in a while can have issues with stitch length consistency. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to clean out any lint or debris from the machine and oil the necessary parts.
3. **Inspect the Feed Dogs**: The feed dogs are responsible for moving the fabric through the machine. If they are not functioning properly or are obstructed, it can affect the stitch length. Check for any debris or damage to the feed dogs and clean or replace them if needed.
4. **Check the Bobbin Tension**: Incorrect bobbin tension can also cause irregular stitch lengths. Make sure the bobbin is correctly threaded and that the tension is adjusted according to the machine's specifications.
5. **Test with Different Fabric and Thread**: Sometimes, the type of fabric or thread being used can affect stitch length. Try sewing on different types of fabric with different threads to see if the issue persists across various materials.
If none of these steps resolve the problem, it may be necessary to have the machine inspected and serviced by a professional technician. They can identify any underlying mechanical issues that may be causing the small stitch length problem.

I have used consew bls-600 industrial sewing I purchased recently. The stitch length 0-4 dial was not working and was very tight. I tried to open it. Now the reverse handle is also not working and t

Shorten your stitch in reverse the machine can't do a stitch that long in reverse. Also google your make and model machine and the word Manual so you can properly learn to use the machine safely.

I have an Elna Elnita air electronic and cannot figure out how to backstitch. I have always owned Elna Su air electronics but this little machine I can't figure out the backstitch

The Elnita is the entry level model in the Air Electronic compact series, there is no reverse lever or button. Instead, you stop stitching, turn the stitch length dial back to zero, then keep turning into "negative" area, it should look like this "-- --- ---- -----" on the dial. Turn it back about half way into the negative area and you will get a reverse stitch of about 2.5 or so. Do your reversing stitches, then stop and turn the dial back to original forwards stitch location, and continue sewing.

How do you sew backwards in a straight line

Difficult to do for long distances as the feed dogs are designed to feed the fabric front to back. But on some Elnas you can turn the stitch length over into the negative on the dial and the machine will sew backwards continuously without using the reversing button.

So check if your machine has this function on the stitch length dial (manual machine obviously, computerised machine is not going to have this option).

Why would you need to do it this way, are you quilting/stitching with a large mass on the left of the needle?

My model 210 is stuck in reverse. Can you help?

The only thing you can do to possible free the mechanism is to turn the lower dial back and forth a bit, from the position where it is in permanent reverse to the numbered area on the dial. Make sure the selector is not on the buttonhole position. That machine doesn't really have a history of that issue but anything is possible, especially if it has sat for awhile and not been used. If moisture was present where it was stored, it's possible the feed linkage is slightly rusted and simply stuck.

Reverse stitching on a singer 514, HELP!

In the center of the stitch length knob (at the right side of the machine) is a button. You would push that button in to get the machine to reverse.

Reverse sewing button stuck HELP!!

MOdel 6430 has the stitch length and buttonhole selector on the same knob. It is the one on the bottom right side of the machine. I believe you may have selected the buttonhole by pulling out on the large round knob. You need to turn the knob back to 0 zero and push in. This should return the machine to normal mode.Adjust your stitch length to 3 and try it. The reverse knob in the center should also stick out so that it becomes operational again.
