I have a Pioneer SD-P55A3 and i was wondering if it can be taken apart for moving purposes?

No,don't this tv is a delicate equipments inside.Tv CRTS R,G,B TUBES guns are easily to be broken if dosen't have the outer frame to protect it.Also the Tv CRTS R,G,B TUBES guns have coolant chemicals inside it,could also damage ur tv even if the CRTS R,G,B TUBES guns are not broken.Tries to put it on the cargo pallet, put a heavy blanket on.Ties it with a heavy ropes tightly and firmly.Than put it in a moving Rider truck or a personal truck. Now firmly sacures the tv for good not to make any movment. Now u can tranport it anywhere.

Hello, I have an older Pioneer SD-P55A3 projection tv. I have a problem where the picture at the bottom of the screen appears distorted or, more accurately, "warped". There is yellow and blue that does not...

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms
  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted or warped
  • No Audio/Video - makes a chirping sound.
Problem #2

Another common problem is dull or washed out video.
Your TV may have one or more of the following symptoms....
  • Dull looking picture
  • White looking picture
  • Halos around objects
  • Red/Orange looking picture

You can see some more examples and find a fix here

My Pioneer 55 inch screen tv SD-P5553 has a solid black horizonta

This sounds like a picture mode issue. You maybe in a ZOOM mode. Try adjusting your set to FULL mode. If you are using a Sat receiver or cable box, some of these may have picture viewing mode as well, wich may need to be set in FULL or NORMAL viewing mode.

Good Luck!
