Remove the three or four bolts holding on the pull cover and lift it off the mower.

Get a length of new pull cord and fish it into the hole the cord comes out of while passing it into the cord reel underneath the cover. There should be a hole in the reel where you can see where the cord should come out. Then you tie a knot into that end of the cord. With the cord now on the reel you wind it backwards with free end of the cable enough turns to **** in the free cord when you let it go. Usually 6-10 turns minimum. Remember to allow for the distance to the lawn mower handle! Unless your cord terminates at the top of the pull cover.

Good luck and be careful!

How to tighten the drive belt on Craftsman 7.25 EZ Walk mower

If there is any adjustment at all it will be done on the drive cable itself not the belt. You will adjust the cable in order to pull more tension on the belt.

CRaftsman ez walk rear drive does not disengage

Remove the 4 screws that cover the tension belt assembly. Look under the assmebly that has the red lever that engages the drive. There should be a square button that you can pull out and push in. Pull the square button out and then pull on the cable down on the end where it attaches to the pulley with a spring. You should feel the tension cable come out some. While holding the cable in the position you want to release the tension on the belt assembly, push the black square button back in. The cable will stay in this position unless you pull the square button out again. If you do it will apply all the pressure back on the pully assembly again making the it hard to pull the lawnmower in reverse. This is the solution. Enjoy!

I have an old Craftsman 6.75 hp walk behind

Not sure where to look for the model number. But here's a few things to check.
1. If the gas is old (from last year), drain it out of the tank, carb and lines and replace with fresh. Gas can go bad and won't ignite properly after it has been around too long.
2. Replace the spark plug.... sometimes they look good and aren't.
3. Clean the Air filter. Take the filter element out of the housing and give it a good cleaning with compressed air. If it's plugged up with debris and dust, your trimmer won't run.
4. Make sure the oil level is correct. Many of the current motors won't run if the oil is low.
hope this help ya
