Plug the dvd into the a/v input and see if it is clear. If it is then have the satellite co check the receiver.

everything checked... took the satellite box to test with another TV.. no such problem.

Could it be the AV input board?

  • Anonymous Oct 04, 2010

Are they "dots" running through the screen? Does the clarity change with scenes?

  • bmoe807 Oct 04, 2010

it's not dot's running through the screen, but more like lines... but they rotate.. just horizontal lines pictures are distorted slightly but still visible.... rotating on the screen.

How do I hook up a HD satallite dvr to a av reciever dvd player and HDTV using HDMI cables

Things You’ll Need:
  • HD television
  • HD satellite or cable receiver
  • DVD player
  • Stereo receiver
  • AV cables
  • Cable connector
  • HDMI cables
Step1Examine the back of your HDTV. You will see a series of input jacks for AV cables, (typically color-coded white and red for audio and yellow for video), as well as an antenna input and one or more HDMI input jacks. There will likely be a number of them, but each one should be distinguished with a label ("video," "cable" or something similar). Step2Attach the cable connector from the cable or satellite receiver to the antenna input on the back of the TV. Step3Connect the AV cables to the DVD player, VCR, stereo receiver or whichever other component you wish to connect to the television. The cables should line up by color: place the white cable in the white input jack, the red cable in the red input jack and the yellow cable in the yellow input jack. All three cables from each component need to go into the same label input jacks. Usually, they will all line up in a vertical row. Step4Find the HDMI output jack on your receiver or DVD player (some receivers will not have them--they are necessary to receive a high definition signal--but can still play on the TV through the cable connector or AV cables). Attach one end of an HDMI cable to the output jack of the receiver and the other end into the input jack on the HDTV. Step5Turn on the TV. Access the menu with your remote, and follow any instructions it gives you. Your HDTV may require a few additional steps to complete the hookup of the receiver (though not all of them will). Step6Access the "input" button on your TV remote. This will allow you to switch the TV signal to one of the cable connections you have just made. For example, if you attached the HDMI cable to the first of two HDMI input jacks, the TV will flash "HDMI 1" on the screen to tell you that is where it is receiving its signal. Hope that helps..........

How do I hook up my Toshiba DVD player to my old Daewoo Tv /vcr combo

what inputs does the old Daewood / VCR combo use is it RCA and Video cable on an AV input? How many Av inputs are there in TV ? Does the DVD player have AV out audio out (Yellow) RCA (Red and White). If you do not have enough AV inputs on the Tv use an AV switch box . and Switch two AV RCA inputs /DVD and VCR and into one output to the TV. You may be able to feed the AV out RCA out into the VCR AV in and switch the input on the VCR.

LG 37LD320H Has a blank sceen only on Satelite input. The line is fine because i hook up a different tv and it works. Any ideas?

So the TV internal electronics for decoding the signal have failed. You could replace the TV. A cheaper alternative is to find a VCR or digital recorder that can take the satellite input in, and put the picture out on an HDMI cable to your TV.

H Malawi,
If the Unit is new kindly do not mess with it, ask the installation guy to help you out.
else check your AV input cables and connections taken from DTH or DVD player and check its resolution values.
If the TV is having a dead black display, call the LG repair center or customer care...

I have a 32" flatscreen

Different video signals use different connections ...and we are speaking ONLY the video(NOT including the audio connections)
  • Composite Video (typically colored Yellow) uses 1 RCA connection on your TV
  • Svideo (uses 1 svideo connector on your TV) a circular connector with 4 pins in it
  • Component Video (typically colored Red/Green/Blue) uses 3 RCA connections on your TV
These are the common analog video signals....You cannot mix and match these and plug a composite (Sometimes called AV in menus) into component etc
If both your sources (wii/DVD) you want to use a component signal to your TV (which BTW is the best quality of the 3 I listed) you will need 2 component inputs on your TV
OR
run it through a high end receiver (that will act as your switcher)
OR
buy a small stand alone switcher, something like: http://www.amazon.com/4X1-HD-Component-Av-Selector/dp/B000BVIBGI/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_4

settle for a lower quality DVD signal and use the Composite video out (yellow jack) into the Composite Video In on the TV and use the component for wii

I hope this helps,
Magoo
