SOURCE: I have a Emachine,when i

When you boot your pc, hit F8 several times. You should see a boot option list. Fyrst try the option last known good configuration. If that doesn't work. reboot and hit F8 to get the list again but this time try safe mode. After you hit enter to try safe mode hold down both <ctrl> keys for a couple of seconds. If it boots into safe mode, try a system restore. Go to Start>programs>accessories>systrm tools>system restore. Choose a date a few days back. If any of these work, go to your command prompy. Go start>run> and type cmd. Then type chkdsk /f There's a space between the k and the slash. It will tell you it can't run right now do you wan't it run the next time you start your system? Enter y. Exit the box, then reboot. If it reboots successfully, do a complete virus scan. If this fixes your problem please rate as fixed. If not, don't rate yet. Add a commrnt and let me know what happened and I'll be glad to help you further. Thanks.

SOURCE: I updated BIOs and now every thing is gone.

Okay, sounds like your BIOS upgrade went south. First off, re-install the original BIOS. Usually you back up the original before upgrading. Either that, or d/l the original BIOS from emachines.com. Once you've got the BIOS working, try starting the system. I'll need to know more to help you from there.

SOURCE: Unmountable boot volume

Hopefully you have a windows installation cd or a recovery cd. If you do then you need to install it into your cd rom drive. Reboot the computer and you will see a message that says to press any key to boot from CD. If you do not get this message and it goes straight to your boot screen then you should re-enter your BIOS and change the boot order so that the computer will boot from the CD first. Then reboot (if this was the case). When you enter the windows set up you will want to press R to start the recovery console. Select your windows OS by pressing the number corresponding with the listing for windows (most likely "1"). Then you will want to enter your administrative password. If you don't have one, just press enter. This should bring you to a command prompt. Once at the command prompt type CHKDSK. This will perform a scan of your hardrive and fix any errors. Upon restart, your computer should boot into windows. If not, then repeat this process, but instead of CHKDSK, type in fixmbr. Hope this helps.

EMachines eMD620 suddenly shutdown and not boot anymore

When this happened was the laptop overly hot? If the laptop's head got too high it could have shutdown to protect itself. It wouldn't boot until the heat had disparate. Sit you laptop aside for about 30 minutes and see if it will boot then. If it does you might want to check out a cool mat.

What is the problem regarding a mini hp notebook that cannot booth but it has a power

It can be a due to a faulty memory , a hard disc or if the OS comes up and then the PC hangs , it can be due to a virus.
This can cause havoc to your PC and corrupt files that are needed to work the PC. If so the OS- operating software - must be reloaded.

Trouble starting

It sounds like your hard drive has become faulty due to the shock to the laptop when falling to the ground. If the hard drive is damaged then you're not going to get much joy with it anymore. If you have got a CDROM like Norton Disk Doctor then you could give this a go, but I wouldn't hold much luck!! Probably need a replacement hard drive.

Won't boot up. Get a message early on in the process that says the following file is corrupt or missing: Windows\system32\config\system Recovery disk won't boot either

Hello,

This problem usually occurs due to an ungraceful shutdown, ie battery died before the laptop completed it's shutdown procedures or due to a failing hard drive.

Try booting the laptop and pressing F8 repeatedly. When the black and white screen pops up you can try booting into safemode/Command prompt. If you get in to the Comand prompt, type, CHKDSK /F then restart the computer by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del all three at once.

When it restarts it should go into disk checking mode, let it run and if it's only minor damage this should solve the problem, if that doesn't work, put your windows recovery disk into the DVD drive and boot the laptop, when it starts asking you questions try running the REPAIR install and this may solve the problem.

If neither of the above work you may need to recover the laptop to factory settings(same disks) but should backup any important files you have saved first. If you do not know how to do that already I would advise seeking a pro for at least that portion as it is easy to accidentally wipe out all of your files.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

My pc

Usually when it gets caught in a restart loop it means the Operating System is corrupt. Sometimes an .ini file is missing or corrupt, sometimes a hardware/software update causes a stop error. If the data on the hard drive is not critical use the e-machines recovery dvd and reload the OS. If you need all data on the hard drive I would suggest downloading a "Live CD" like the Linux distribution of "Puppy"
this will load an os into ram and you can then "mount' the hard drive and back up all data on the hard drive to cd/dvd.
