Telephone ringing problem

In our office we have an old NorStar system with M7310 'phones. We had a power cut today for a while and when the power returned I had to reset the time and date on the 'phones. However, an incoming call only rings on one 'phone now whereas before the power cut it rang on all the 'phones. How can I reset the system so all the 'phones ring for an incoming call? Thanks.

I got as far as **266344 which shows me various options, none of which are "Sets". I get:- A. Configuration B. General Admin C. Extn Copy and D. System Version. I have tried going into each one and still can't seem to find "Sets". Have you missed out a stage in the process at all Chris?
I didn't mention in my original question that we have 2 lines and 9 handsets.....if that helps. Only one handset rings with an incoming call. Thanks.

This is certainly a bit puzzling isn't it! OK, this is what I do:- I type Feature**266344......A screen appears saying 'Password'......I then type the password in, (which is 266344) and the next screen is 'A. Configuration'. From there I can go on to B, C, D etc. as described earlier. The only thing I'm doing differently to you is entering a password, which I have to do or I can't get any further. After a bit of experimentation I can find some of the categories you mention, such as Call Handling, Restrictions and Overides....but not where they are on your 'phone. And I can't find 'Sets' anywhere. As you say, there may be something else wrong. Thanks for your help anyway Chris.

Okay first you'll need to know the 2 digit "Set" number for your Phone.
Press "Featire" *0 then Intercom to get the 2 digit number.

Okay Now we need to configure:
Press "Feature" **CONFIG or **266344
Press: Next until "Sets" appears "press Show" Top Right Button
Enter 2 digit "Set Number"
Press Next Until You Get Ringing Lines
Hit the "Change" Button to Turn the Line to "Yes" to ring
Do this for each Line you have that you want to ring.
Done, Please Rlease.

Sorry, but I just checked again, and no I did not miss a step.

When you enter **266344 the first thing that should appear is "Lines" hit the next arrow and "Sets" appears. I don't have any of the catagories that you are listing, sorry. I tried this on all 10 of our phones and the same thing happens, I even tried it on our other office across town and same thing. Sorry but I think you may have more problems with your config on your phone, then just the non ringing. When you type in **266344 the Main Catagories should be as follows, 1.Lines, 2. Sets, 3.Call Handling, 4.Restrictions & 5.Overides.

Our office has a combination of Norstar M7310 and Norstar M7208 phones. One of our M7310 phones died today and I wanted to trade it out with a M7310 that was in my office. I followed how to turn off the...

Dial "F * 0" (Feature, star, zero), which is Button Inquiry, and press an intercom button to see the extension number of the telephone. If Set Relocation is set to "Yes", then the extension number & mailbox will follow the phone when it is moved. Move only two phones at a time, and wait until they completely "boot-up" before moving additional phones.
Hope this helps.

Norstar M7208, it's direct line number is diverting to another ph

It could be a simple as the phone has call forwarding to another extension set up on it or the direct line could also be programmed on the other set. Does the screen on the non- ringing m7208 display "forward to:xxx" or does it display the current day and time?

We have a Norstar - Meridian M7310 phone system. Today for some unknown reason when an incoming call comes in, the ring is two short rings rather that the "longer" ring that we normally have. I have...

The two short rings is telling you that the call is either a transfered call (answered by someone else and transfered) or answered by an auto attendant and transfered. Watch the ringing phone when the call comes in and see if the intercom LED blinks.

You have call forwarding?

two kinds ...

kind one - from your telephone company - press *### or what ever your telephone company uses

kind two from your PBS what ever your PBS system asks for for call forwarding.

This information whould be available from your administrator - if you are the administrator ... call the company that installed your PBS for the number.

Phone is dead! M7310

There is no power cord required for an M7310 set. The set gets all the power from the Nortel telephone system. Try plugging in your phone where another phone is active to ensure that your phone that you want to install is working. The phone flashes, then stops, then flashes, then stops... you just have to be patient when testing. Possible Troubles: -> It maybe the line cord, the cord that plugs in from the wall to the phone that can be damaged. -> the jack might be dead (wiring in the jack is pulled off) or inactive (there is no jumper from the office to the telephone system). -> the phone port from the telephone system might be dead.

Call forwarding for NorStar m7310

You have to know how to get into programming, and it depends on the type of telephone lines you have... if you have regular analog lines, on a out bound call transfer there is going to be line degragation. Meaning that the outgoing call is not going to be of the best quality.

Secondly, you have to see how many telephone lines you have, if you have 3 analog trunks, with a call forwarding to a cell phone, you will be using up 2 lines... 1 incoming and 1 outgoing to your cell. This leaves 1 trunk for incoming or outgoing callers.

Our office has 13 phones all the same. Some of the phones do not ring. I would like to get one of the phones to ring. It is a Norstar Meridian M7310

You will have to go into system programming, under sets, line appearances. You will need to set the lines on the phones to appear and ring, not just appear.
