When I moved out of my parents house I put a password on my TV and when I moved back in I don't remember the passeord. Now i am un able to watch anything thats not un-rated or rated PG

The child lock on a TV can be a wonderful thing. A parent sometimes cannot be present for the duration of a kids' show, so the child lock ensures they can't watch programs that are off limits. Though slightly embarrassing, accidentally turning on the child lock to a TV is a common problem. The section In the manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock it. Try a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no matter what your code is. A common code is "0000." Unplug your television for a few minutes. The internal battery of the TV is what helps remember what your code. If the TV is unplugged for an extended period of time, it clears the internal memory, which in turn will reset your child lock code.

Forgotten Parental Control password can be bypassed/cleared by entering "788444" even if 4 digits "----" appears, then press ENT to clear the current password. You can then enter a new parental control password.

I had the same problem with my TruTech TV after i recieved cable from Time Warner Cable. We aslo thought it was the cable but it was obviously the TV, so my boyfriend went to the options and went to change password and put 0000 or 1111 and it asked to pick a new one so he just put 0000 again as the new password then he went to V-Chip and it asked for the password and that takes you to parental control and then you just true it off and your offical back in business and youll be able to watch anything you want now

This is the only way to turn "off" parental control lock on the custom setup screen.

1) turn off ps2 with no dvd in drive.
2) turn on ps2 and insert dvd in drive.
3) when it asks about parental password, choose 'yes'.
4) when prompted for password, press 'select'.
5) the prompt will change and say 'delete password'. enter '7444'.
6) enter a new password (0000 works).
7) registration complete, dvd will start playing.
8) once the movie starts, press 'select'.
9) click the 'stop' icon.
10) click the 'stop' icon again (the icon must be gray even when you have it highlighted).
11) navigate to 'custom setup' ('select', setup icon, custom setup icon)
12) move to parental control option, press right directional button, enter password (0000).
13) move down to 'level'.
14) move up to desired level (off is at the top).
15) click 'x'.
16) go back to 'select' menu options, and press 'play'.
17) while movie is playing, eject disk and remove dvd.
18) turn ps2 off using switch on the back, keep off for five seconds.
19) turn on ps2, put dvd back in.
20) happy dance. ;)

Try using the code 7-4-4-4. It should clear whatever they put in and then you can put your own in.

Problems with V-Chip/Parental Controls

• For rating limits to take effect, you must lock V-Chip settings to activate them.

• If you forget your password you can reset it. Enter 5898 as the password and then change it
to a new one.

to over the lock the eprom needs to be taken out and resolder back that will reset the parental lock when ever you put in a code use a eamily member birth date yours or a friend birth date or a house address
