Try the calibration screen in the options menu and follow the directions...make sure you hold the screen over the X until it moves to the next position.

you say it DOESNT SEEM TO WORK! does it or doesnt it work at all? theres a big differance between the two...if it doesnt work at all, try the latest update...(let me know if you need me to provide a link)

if the update doesnt fix the problem, youll need a digitizer..i buy them off ebay for about 20.00 but you can buy them new if you desire but the cost out weights the value if you buy a new one

Touchscreen not responding.

There are three levels of fixes, please try them in order:
1. Reset the GPS using the Reset button, on the back, just under the Antenna Hinge. Resetting will turn off the GPS, and then turn it back on, if connected to power. Test, if fixed, great, otherwise, go to fix 2.
2. Turn the power off, then press and hold the powerbutton for up to 2 minutes. The GPS will turn on, and display a "PreBoot Mode" message. When that message disappears, and the screen calibration screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions, and you are fixed. If you still cannot use the touch screen, repeat fixes 1 and 2 several times, just to be sure., then go to fix 3
3. The touch-screen glass has probably broken or lost its connection with the GPX motherboard. You can order new touch screen glass on the web and install yourself, if you are techy in nature, otherwise do a search for "garmin nuvi 660 repair" and choose your service.

Touch screen won't respond / hard to program

Hi

Try to run the Touch Screen Test(by going into Diagnostics) this will check that the touch screen is calibrated and accurate. If it still doesnt work then go to Initialize GPS this will Reset the unit and will reacquire the satellite signal.

Note: Previously saved satellite data will be reset and reacquiring the satellite signal may take 15 minutes or more.

Please revert for any clarifications.

A Fixya Rating would be appreciated if you found this solution helpful.

Thanks

Frozen touch screen

I have the same problem essentially. The only thing I can do is pan left and right in map mode. I can't access any of the buttons that appear onscreen as the touch screens calibration (or something) seems wacked out. The only time the unit functions even remotely normal is if its *VERY* hot. Almost too hot to touch. Anyone have a solution?
