Hi,
If your camera is under warranty please contact the manufacturer to see if they will cover the repair, or to determine how much they will charge for the repair.
In case they are repairing it underwarranty, good for you.
However in case there is a high cost assiciated, you might want to try the following steps as a DIY fix.
1. Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in and turn the camera on.
If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.
2. Remove the batteries, then remove the memory card. Then install new batteries, and turn on the camera.
3. Blow compressed air in the gaps around the lens barrels for blowing out any particles that may be in there jamming the lens.
4. Tap the side of the Camera with the palm of your hand repeatedly. Many people have reported that the issue was resolved by just doing this. So, please give it a try.
In case the issue persists, you will have to get the camera serviced or go for a new one.
Hi Rylee
Thanks for using FixYa. If the battery is fully charged and still it won't
turn on then the issue is with the battery going bad and should be replaced. Please
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further
assistance.
Thanks
Hi,
Make sure battery terminals are cleaned and it is inserted correctly in camera. If still does not power up then camera got problem in main board that will be replaced only by Nikon service center.
If camera is under warranty then it would not cost your money and if it is out of warranty then ask an estimate as some times new camera is even good option instead of its repair.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.
