This seems to be a common problem, there are three parts that will cause this, the magnetron "heats food" a common failure, the high voltage diode and capacitor are the other two culprits. The cost to repair will approach the price of a new oven.

Hello :

This could happen because of a bad door switch or a loos door switch mount . This could the switches not be activated . This is the main reason that microwaves not heat even if the other functions work fine . The reason of bad door switches is slamming doors and not closing them gently .

Warning : A microwave oven is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock, even when it is unplugged. I strongly recommend you seek the assistance of an appliance repair technician when conducting any microwave oven repair .

OK, if everything, including the fan, is working, this will confirm Magnetron failuer. you cannot reset the function of a failed Magnetron heating unit. replace this failed device asap if possible.

Test the high voltage capacitor,the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.

If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be alloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even ifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their twocontacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

u need to clean the cavity inside the microwave .. step to clean that .. put a cup of water nearly half filled( 30 ml ) and start microwave for five minutes .. after that just open microwave and clean from inside with clean cotton cloth .. this will surely help ..

This just happened to ours as well. Apparently the magnetron (device that creates radio waves that heat the food) is broken. I'm trying to pry the darn thing out of our kitchen now so I can replace the magnetron. Look for this part WB27X10489 on Google. I found it on ebay for $65. If it fixes the problem I'll post again.

take down the display and clean the contacts if that does not work replace it.good luck.
