TV Sound through stereo speakers while watching tv.

I am trying to figure out how to enable the sound to play through my stereo speakers rather than the TV speakers, while watching TV. I have the sound cords (red and white) connected from the "Audio Out" jacks in the back of the TV to my stereo's "AUX Audio" jacks.

TV: Sony Trinitron KV-35S42
Stereo: RCA 6-Disc Changer RS2656

1. The easiest solution would be to connect a stereo RCA (red and white) cable to the audio output on the back of your TV.
2. Then connect the other end to the input on your home theater system.
3. Change the home theater system to the correct input.

Good luck!

Surround sound for DVDs.

If your DVD disc supports it, you will have to enable surround sound from the DVD, as well as the speakers.

I have had the Kenwood VR-407 since 2001. I also have a Mitsubishi projection TV, attached to the receiver. When watching regular cable TV (u-verse), I can not get sound from the rear speakers. I am using...

Most TV stations you watch don't send a surround sound mix so you won't get anything in the back speakers. DVDs generally all have a surround mix which is why it sends to all speakers. What you are experiencing is normal, Bob.

No sound out of right main when watching DVR/TV or VHS

When watching TV or VHS the sound should be stereo and therefor come out of the the 2 front speakers. I suspect you now have sound out of the left front and the center speaker which indicates you connected the center speaker to the right front speakerterminal and the right front to the center terminal.

Just check if all speakers are connected to the correspondent speakerterminal.

If this is correct and the problem persists, try to connect another speaker to the right front terminal to see of the terminal or speaker is not working properly. If another speaker does work on the same connection, your right speaker might be damaged which might not be heard when listening to 5.1 because of the surround sound.

Lg home theater to lg plasma tv

This is a typical problem with TV broadcast UNLESS you use a matrix DSP surround sound mode, most DVD audio is either Dolby digital 5.1 surround or DTS multi-channel surround sound, unless you are viewing a HDTV broadcast with 5.1 Digital sound connected from the TV to the receiver then you are probably receiving a 2 channel Stereo sound format, I would suggest that you try to set your TV input mode to a audio Dolby Pro- Logic which will yield 5.1 and should engage all speakers.

switch the HDMI cables around to make sure its not one of them, if the problem is one of them it will move with the cable,if no change i would suspect the coaxial cable next.

Can't get surround sound for tv shows

The coby dvd 988 has 2 rca audio input jacks, you need to have these connected to your TV AUDIO OUT jacks, these are usually colored red and white like right and left stereo jacks, be sure to set up the TV for AUDIO output through these connections, some tv`s require that the internal built in speakers are cancelled and the audio output jacks are enabled. Set the coby input signal to receive the port you pluged the tv signal into.

No sound through tv speakers

Well the problem is that the PS3 only allows output on one channel. So, this is only going to be optical out, or hdmi, or even AV. You only get one option for the output.

Now, if your TV has the capability.. Run the sound through the HDMI to the TV and then let the TV output the digital sound to the surround system. This will give you the option of turning off the surround and re-enabling the TV's stereo speakers.

I hope this gives you an idea of what the problem is. If I were you, I'd just do as I said. This is exactly how I have mine setup. I have a 600w sub on the surround, so late night movies can't be played on it without the neighbors being woke up. So, I simply disable the TV's output and use it's speakers. :)

Surround Sound Not Playing For TV Programs

Greetings jdm12,

I can understand your problem, I have some what of the same issues with my home theater setup when watching events. One of the only suggestions I can make is adjusting the "Dolby Pro Logic II Mode". After reviewing your owners manual it appears you should be able to change the mode by pressing the PL II Mode button found in the lower keypad on your remote. It appears the options you should have are Music - Cinema - Pro Logic - Matrix - Stereo. You may want to try Music or Stereo when watching your events. In Stereo setting it should provide sound out of the front speakers and sub-woofer only. In Music, there are more processing that is done so you could hear more then just the front speakers.

I hope this makes your next your next PPV Party a big hit!
