SOURCE: kingstone hard drive 2GB

Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage
Click on Disk Management
Right-click on your Thumbdrive and select "Change drive letter and paths"

Give it another drive letter and see if it sorts itself =)

SOURCE: I can not able to format my Kingston 64gb pen drive

Hello there. you will most likely have to buy a disk utility like partition magic, or some such. if you go to softpedia .com there should be some good free/shareware programs there.

SOURCE: unable to format the drive r copy files to the drive

Pocket Fuzzies?
Get a bright light and look into the USB connector of the Cruzer. It is possible that there is lint, paper bits, cookei crumbs, etc in there and that is your problem. The outer 2 connections of the USB is DATA and the inner two Power. B/C it is able to flash, you are getting power... but the data lines may be dirty, covered, bent, etc.

Clean it up and try again. Flat toothpick, small ty-wrap or Proxident (dental/braces) brushes work well for this - DO NOT use anything Metal!! It will scratch the connectors and vastly shorten their life (they are GOLD plated)

Short of that, goto HP site and get their USB format tool (get it here: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197 ) and try reformatting... if that doesn't work, it is hosed and only I can fix it so let me know ;-)

SOURCE: card will not format in motorola razor.

You can purchase a USB media card reader for very cheap. Try formatting it that way. Otherwise you will need to try a different card. Once you have tried these solutions let me know if you still need assistance.
Thank you,
Lee

Why only 3GB free on 8GB attache flash drive when everything has been deleted

What operating system are you using it on and what file system did you format the Flash drive with? If you are using an OS that has a file system lower than fat32 or if you formatted it with a file system lower than fat32 then that is why It shows less than 8GB total.

The 8gb pny flash drive will only hold 751 mb. How can I format it to hold more info.

Most flash drives are formatted in FAT32 - back up your data first. You may be able to reformat the drive in XP and higher versions of Windows. Start > Control Panel > System (System and Security in Win7) > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > DisK Management. Make sure the USB drive is not active (ready to remove). Delete the current volume (Action > All Tasks) on the flash drive. Then format the USB drive using the NTFS standard. (Make sure you do not reformat C: unless you are prepared to reinstall your OS)

A simpler way to get more data on a FAT32 drive is to use folders. The total number of files in the home directory (E: (if C: is the hard drive and D: is the optical drive)) is the critical limit on a FAT32 drive. (I remember a limit of 512 files but that might have been FAT16).

Third-party partitioning solutions can also be used.

I hope this helps.

My kingston 8gb cards only show 1.87 gb and will

The 'FAT' file-system uses 16-bit arithmetic, and thus is limited to about 2GB in size.
The 'FAT32' file-system uses 32-bit arithmetic, and thus can easily format an 8GB device.

So, be sure to choose 'FAT32'.

Also:
Click Start
Right-mouse click My Computer
Choose Manage
Click Storage
Click Disk Management (local)
Does the card show a 1.87GB "partition", plus 6.13GB of "unused" space?
If so, then delete that "small" partition, and then create a new partition that "spans" the entire 8GB.
Then, FORMAT that partition.

Windows says not enough space on pny 8 gig flash drive

Try formatting the drive as NTFS instead of FAT32 (assuming you are using it only on Windows computers). FAT32 doesn't support files over 4GB.

For more info, see http://www.google.com/search?q=fat32+file+size+limit
